Desperate Situation, Optimum Outcome To make a long story short, I was practically stranded in Houston with a car that had just failed (timing belt) and still had to be in Austin for work To make a long story short, I was practically stranded in Houston with a car that had just failed (timing belt) and still had to be in Austin for work by Monday. The day my vehicle failed was Saturday. My mind raced with all the options I had. I could head back south to my parents house, order parts, maybe a special tool needed and spend the rest of the day fixing my vehicle. The only issue with that option was the fact that I had to be very lucky to get the parts overnight (if they were available) and couldn't afford to have the repairs go awry for any second I had left. I decided to trade in my vehicle (it was time after all, as I had bought the car brand new and had nothing but issues with it from the start, lesson learned). After spending numerous ours at another Toyota dealership, I stumbled upon a deal at Fred Haas and explained to the first dealership that these two cars I was comparing had the same options, different colors albeit, but a drastic difference in price. To add salt to that wound, I was basically offered a penny for a vehicle that could be up and running with a $75 part and a days worth of repair. I scoffed at the first guys and told them I was headed to Fred Haas Toyota World where they would give me a much more believable trade in value (I hoped at the time but bluffing works at dealerships too, sometimes). Once there I received a significant raise in the trade in value for my car versus the other guys. Also my knight in shining armor, Mauricio Coto, heard my story, understood my issues and what I was looking for and diligently went to work so that I could A)Get into a newer vehicle, B) Get back to Austin in a timely fashion, C) Get me in the specific trim I wanted. Now I had everything going against me and everything dealers love to hear... "I'm virtually stranded... I have a trade-in that's running but unable to move... I'm desperate and need to be in another city by Monday..." Not once at Haas Toyota world did I feel like they were taking advantage of me and Mauricio went through more hoops than a basketball at a NBA game where the players forget to play defense. I cannot elaborate but I will say this, thank you Mauricio, you saved more than my job that day. There's a reason I stumbled upon this place while I was at the first dealership. While I was awaiting their evaluation of my trade in, I googled "Top Toyota dealerships in Houston". Fred Haas Toyota World was number 1 on that list. I was doubtful at first as I don't always believe everything I see on the internet. After being a patron there I was able to see first hand why they were number one. These guys (at the pre-owned section) really came through for me. Mauricio even took a late lunch while helping me out. He even got me in a vehicle that was a higher trim than I was looking for at a price that was in my budget. Thanks again Mauricio, and thanks to all the friendly staff at the Fred Haas Toyota World pre-owned section. More

Terrible Experience Worst customer service I've ever experienced! I will NEVER go back. Brought in my Sienna because I wanted to use my warranty. Was told that I would ha Worst customer service I've ever experienced! I will NEVER go back. Brought in my Sienna because I wanted to use my warranty. Was told that I would have to wait until they did a diagnostic on my van (which would cost me $130)& I was told it would be 3-4 hours before they could get it looked at even though I had an appointment! (It actually took them 5 & a half hours just to diagnose it.) I had been told I would get a replacement when the appt was made. I call my husband and have him call the service advisor to see what's going on. He calls, calls me back, calls Toyota back and he asks to speak to a manager. The manager 'refused' to take his call! So, I rented my own rental car on my own dime so that I can get out of there. I wasn't called until 5 & 1/2 hours later with the diagnostic results (and they had suggested that I sit there and wait for it)! Their 'diagnosis' was that my front strut was bent, 2 of my (4-6month old) tires were ruined & that my brakes needed to be done immediately. I was told that it was dangerous to drive. My service advisor said that what I needed done to my car was not eligible to be paid for with the warranty. I decided that I was going to take it elsewhere to be fixed. My bill for the diagnostics was not $130 like they said it would be.. The cashier noticed this and went to go ask about it, came back, said that it was indeed right but wouldn't tell me what the extra charge of $19.50 was even for! I am so beyond furious at this point and they were closing so I just paid the bill (because what else am I supposed to do- they still have my keys) & I cannot get out of there fast enough! After I get my car all fixed elsewhere, I remember Toyota had said that I needed brakes. Toyota had said that it was dangerous, which worried me, so I asked where I was having it done if they had done that too. No, but let's go check again. I follow him out to my car, he shows me what it looks like. It was not what Toyota had claimed on my diagnostic report (that they not only had me pay them for, but had made me pay extra on). Only one tire had to be replaced, not the 2 Toyota had claimed.(Plus Toyota did not even have all of the broken parts that had needed to be replaced on their diagnostic report either). Fred Haas Toyota World had been so unbelieving rude to me AND I had to pay more for a diagnostic report for who knows what reason AND the report had incorrect information on it anyway (Also, Toyota said that they were going to have to do my brakes which also did not need to be done, which I found out later from the mechanic I did use). I had paid Fred Haas Toyota World $151.11 for a service that costs $130, and it had incorrect information on the entire report. I showed it to the people fixing my car and they literally laughed at it in disbelief! Toyota diagnostic reports cannot be trusted as fact. The 'service advisor #5882' (I'll leave out their actual name to save them some embarrassment), this person should be fired in my opinion- absolutely horrible customer service that was intensified immensely due to that employee's attitude. I am beyond furious with the Toyota experience that I got that day at Fred Haas Toyota World! I will never go back. More
