He sent me an e-mail with price quotes; he invited me to the dealership to test drive a few vehicles he thought would fit my needs. I did not expect to be greeted at the door, but I was greeted by Mauricio Coto and eventually escorted to Rusty. I never once felt like a "customer." I only felt like they valued my position of wanting to purchase a vehicle and would work with me to find a vehicle to fit me. Yes, I was a customer, but I was also a client or a business partner; this was a business transaction, for me, and they were not simply trying to make a sale. I was also impressed that Rusty and Mauricio worked with other customers, at the same time, and I never felt ignored. They gave me time to think about each vehicle I saw. I left Fred Haas with the vehicle that was perfect for my situation and advice on how to keep it in good condition. Each customer is unique. It takes a salesperson with leadership quality to quickly recognize what the customer wants and/or needs and demonstrate a product with benefits to the customer. Had Rusty not heard what I was saying on the telephone and followed up with a product that fit my situation, I would not have had a good experience at Fred Haas. At my income level, purchasing a vehicle is a major transaction; it was hard for me to think about spending thousands of dollars. Nevertheless, I did because I believe Rusty and Mauricio presented me with an option from which I could not walk away. I never felt like I was annoying them because I was not looking at an $80,000 vehicle; I felt like my purchase was important and valuable simply because that is what I wanted to buy. They worked to deliver a great product to suit my needs. I did have to spend more than I had hoped, but I am very satisfied with my vehicle, and everyone says, "It's you Deb." It is me! Based on my experience at Fred Haas, I wish that somehow Rusty could share his skill with other dealers and/or salespersons. He somehow put me at ease and made it a pleasant, professional shopping experience; he never forgot that the purchase was important to me. I'm a hard-to-deal-with buyer and he took care of my wife and I with patience, attentiveness and his easy-going style.
