I normally like the service at this dealer but my experience yesterday wasn’t as good. They assigned Jimmy to be my advisor. I had body side moldings installed on my new RAV4 that I got in June. My salesperson Lexy took great care of me and got them installed for me right away. In 2015 I purchased my Toyota Highlander from Freeman and my husband purchased a Four Runner. We continued visiting Freeman to have both cars serviced following the recommended Toyota schedule. For the mos my husband purchased a Four Runner. We continued visiting Freeman to have both cars serviced following the recommended Toyota schedule. For the most part, those visits went smoothly until this visit. Needing new tires, we decided to purchase tires for the Highlander from Freeman using the Buy 3 Tires, Get the 4th Tire for $1. We called to select the tires, confirm their availability, and schedule the appointment. Following the advice of the Service Tech, we also scheduled an alignment. On the day of the scheduled appointment, I arrived 10 minutes early. I informed the Tech I would wait in the lobby and left my car with the him. After two hours of waiting, the Tech informed me the car would be ready soon but he was leaving for the day and a new Tech would complete my visit. An hour and a half later, I checked on the status of my car and was told it would be another half hour. I informed the new Tech that the additional half hour would make my total wait time four hours. I asked why the service was taking so long. I was informed it was a busy day and that alignments can take some time. I told the Tech it would have been nice to have been made aware of the expected delay and I was offered an apology. I thought the purpose of scheduling an appointment was to assure each party an efficient and successful experience. By the time I left the dealership, I had been at Freeman for 4.5 hours. But, wait! There's more! When the car was finally ready, I was given the bill $1200+ I was shocked! Subtract the $100 alignment, three tires cost approximately $1100. My husband called Discount Tire in Bedford to check their price of the same tire. Four of the same tires at Discount Tire would have cost $1183, including installing, balancing, tax, warranty, and hazard. Three tires at Freeman cost roughly the same as four tires at Discount. Had I made an appointment at Discount Tire, I might have waited an hour (at most) instead of 4.5 at Freeman. While I love my Highlander, I do not love Freeman Toyota and will not return, or recommend, Freeman Service. More
