This is our 9th Honda or Acura, so this review comes from a place of deep loyalty to the brand and massive disappointment with the brand and this dealership. We purchased (not leased) both a 2020 RDX and a place of deep loyalty to the brand and massive disappointment with the brand and this dealership. We purchased (not leased) both a 2020 RDX and 2020 MDX from Friendly Acura, and they have been the only two vehicles we bought in 30 years that had defects in manufacture and oversight in dealer preparation. The 2020 RDX was delivered with a defective front suspension, and defective front brakes, and required suspension work and brake work within 1000 miles. The infotainment system was defective, the auto-braking system randomly slammed the vehicle to a stop, and the transmission would hesitate to shift between gear selections. There was a severe manufacturing issue with the hatchback that damaged the roof. Each time Friendly Acura was weak in their advocacy to “corporate”, and for the body damage, they outsourced repairs it to a non-vetted third-party shop that over-sprayed clear coat lacquer on the interior windows and trim. Friendly returned it to us this way. They expressed empathy but did not strongly advocate for this customer, requiring us to take the issues to American Honda/Acura on our own for resolution. We traded the problematic RDX at 11 months for an MDX SH-AWD Tech in 2020, because Acura and the dealership asked us for another chance. The MDX was also delivered with obvious manufacturing defects that should have been caught before delivering the vehicle. At the recent 22K mile oil/filter change service, the service “advisor” repeatedly recommended a non-Acura endorsed or recommended third party “AC Condenser Cleaning”, a new cabin air filter, and a new engine air filter. The advisor was adamant about the servicing need and emphatically stated the “filters were very dirty”. Notwithstanding no endorsement or recommendation for an "AC Condensor Cleaning", not least at 22K miles, the cabin and engine air filters were not dirty. I’d replaced them myself the week prior. With our trust breached we kindly refused the service and didn’t call them out. Beyond the manufacturing problems that Acura obviously has, this dealership has demonstrated a continual lack of expertise and integrity. I can't say enough about how amazing Gary was through this entire process. I had to sell my lease back to Kia down the road, and Gary picked me up! I had a small hiccup with the dealership, and the upper management responded immediately to my concerns, and corrected the problem right away. The service department work efficiently and my new heated steering wheel was installed within an hour. Lori at the front desk was such an amazing person! She handled the front of house like it was her own home, making sure everything ran smooth, and customers felt welcomed. I will make sure to recommend Friendly Acura without hesitation! More
