Reached out to William after seeing all his positive reviews. He was consistently kind & kept in touch & not pushy. 3 positives. But the experience via Galpin was a slimy as xxxx.. I knew which exact reviews. He was consistently kind & kept in touch & not pushy. 3 positives. But the experience via Galpin was a slimy as xxxx.. I knew which exact truck & packages I wanted. He began the search to see what he can do for me. The selection Galpin had in stock was quite pitiful for being the #1 Ford dealer in US. They had 2 trucks available in a Lariat model. Ok. He called back a few hours later saying he might have found 1 in Texas. Figuring out if they can trade for it. Find out it’s not available. He says give me until end of day to find something. Calls at end of day saying only way to get me the truck I want & with the current “employment discount* promo is to order the exact truck I want from the Ford factory but will take minimum 12-16 weeks to get it. I said I’m not a fan of that option. But let me sleep on it. We’ll connect in the morning. I immediately went online and searched 15 southern California Ford dealerships inventory. Low and behold. 2 dealers - 3 trucks I’m looking for! I call them both. Start discussing options and what I need. They both send window sticker and pricing. We agree to discuss in the morning once I decide. Here’s the SLIMY part. William calls me first thing in the morning to check in and see if I made a choice. I tell him I’ve found 2 dealerships not far with the truck I want. Asked why I had to do his job. He acknowledged that GALPIN was aware of one of the dealerships yesterday! Didn’t mention to me because his supervisor sent a text to that dealership asking if they’d do a trade and the reply is “ask me Sunday”. Mind you- this is before I contacted the non Galpin Dealership. The supervisors didn’t call the place and try to make a deal knowing their client is ready to buy a $80k truck. Nor did they say “Hey, we can’t get this truck for you, but this place can. We wish it was us selling it but they have it go buy the truck!” They were hoping I’d never find out about the option, or could lose the opportunity just so THEY could MAAAAYBE make the sale. Slimy. As. xxxx. Awful. Management. So when I called William and his management out, I explained I’ve done all the work. the other dealership was helpful friendly willing to deal and all via docu-sign without me having to come in (Galpin wouldn’t allow this either) I told William. I don’t want to buy from Galpin after the xx and slime his supervisor pulled. Lack of transparency as well. She killed his commission and the deal. I thanked William and bought the truck from the other dealership. Happy customer. Galpin knows they’re the biggest but sooner or later bad management and ownership drips down and kills businesses. Customers are spending hard earned money and expect some kind of quality ethical treatment. It’s not a hard ask. shop elsewhere out of LA, You’ll be much happier with the entire experience. More
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I bought my Explorer from Galpin 7 years ago and it was a wonderful experience. I felt supported and informed during the purchase process. I have gotten all of my services done with Galpin Ford's service department. Everyone in the service and parts department has been amazing. I especially want to recognize John Minor my amazing service agent and Patrick McNeely the service and parts department manager. These two incredible men have gone above and beyond numerous times! People say getting service and parts from a dealership is way more expensive and even more time consuming. I have found the opposite at Galpin Ford. I would not take my Explorer anywhere else. I highly recommend them if you are looking to purchase a vehicle or need service and/or parts. More
