I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle, 2020 Buick Encore GX with 19,845 mi, picked up the vehicle, drove it twice, a total of about 30 miles, and the battery went dead. Hooked it up to a battery charger but the battery was totally dead. Even the wipers wouldn't work. I contacted the dealership and was told since it was sold "as is" they wouldn't do anything for me because, basically I didn't purchase their service contract for over $4300! My 69 yr old bf went up there to speak to the manager and he told him they can't replace every battery in every vehicle they sell. My bf told him since they're a certified pre-owned dealership they should have at least replaced a 7 year old battery since they are supposed to do a 100+ point inspection. The manager just looked at him. You can't tell me they didn't KNOW the battery was out of date!! Had to wait a month before my bf could replace the battery cuz he had a broken ankle - and again he's 69 yrs old- which they CLEARLY KNEW he had a broken ankle cuz he went up there with the cast still on to speak to the manager!! And they made him stand there waiting as the manager was chatting with one of the staff before acknowledging him when he finally broke into their conversation! I can only imagine if I would have had to have it towed to a service station and paid someone to replace the battery including the tow!!! BEWARE UNLESS THEY SUCKER YOU INTO THEIR $4300+ SERVICE CONTRACT!!! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON THEM!!! More
