We purchased a 2013 Dodge Durango from Garavel Chrysler Dodge in January 2013. Our experience with the sales department was terrific. Since the day we purchased the SUV, there were a number of little items that were not working perfectly, i.e the front speakers were cracked and the sound from them was completely distorted and our cell phones would, only periodically connect with the bluetooth in the car. We figured we could live with these little quirks until we brought it in for its first oil change at 3,000 miles. However, as of last week, the main display in the car would freeze up with the rear view camera locked on giving us a real time movie of what was happening behind us and our not being able to turn it off. Also, when we stopped the car and turned the vehichle off, the display would stay on. The only way to turn it off would be to disconnect the battery. When I called the dealership on Sunday , the service department was closed but I left a detailed message. On Monday morning when I called Dave Swan at the dealership, he was completely unaware of the message. When i explained the problem, his only response was Oh. Really Dave, Oh? I don't know what was more disconcerning, Dave Swan's almost complete non surprise by what I was saying since this was a safety issue or the fact that it seemed almost as if that was a typical problem and that it seemed like I was bothering him. When I said my wife would be down to the dealership to drop off the SUV and that she would require a loaner, Dave's initial response was that he'd have to see if this was covered and that he would need to speak to the General Manager Tom Mercer and that he wuld get back to me. The degree of his lack of customer service savvy is epic to say the least. If I had not pressed him, my wife who is a teacher and needed to get to school that day would have been forced to sit at the dealership until they debated whether an electrical problem in a 2 month old SUV was covered and whether that fell under the guidelines of her being able to get a loaner to gaet to school. But the best part of the morning was when the General Manager, Tom Mercer called me and basically said he was asked to call me and asked me who I was. How could Tom have possibly called me with out first speaking with his head of the service department and becoming informed of my problem? it streches the realm of credibility. Again, the sales department was terrific through out the transaction but I can not stress strongly enough the lack of oversight, or the complete diregard for customer service with in the service department of this dealership. This whole experience has me questioning why I bought American for the first time in over 30 years. Regards Drew OMalley More
Hi my name is Dave Kuban i have been having a problem with my jeep shaking and the ESP/BASS light was on. I brought it to two local places they couldnt figure it out so i called jeep with my concerns KEI with my jeep shaking and the ESP/BASS light was on. I brought it to two local places they couldnt figure it out so i called jeep with my concerns KEITH actually was on his was out the door to go home but stopped took the time (23:06) to explain what could be wrong and when i told him my concerns because i have to little girls at home. he then asked there names and told me he was able to get me in the very next morning. I brought the jeep in the next day work was done Keith called me to let me no it was done being worked on explained what was wrong i paid said thank you !! after shaking my hand he goes Mr Kuban (Darla and Ruby ) will be save now that the car is back to 100% thanks for your bussiness. This guy Keith is a great REP for your company he deserves a RAISE!!! More
They are very accommodating giving the service customer a quick appointment and the Saturday service hours are very convenient and much appreciated. I had to visit my local Jeep dealer as I had a recently purchased Jeep Compass with a satellite radio antenna issue. Initially it seemed as though Garavel didn't want to help and encouraged me to return t purchased Jeep Compass with a satellite radio antenna issue. Initially it seemed as though Garavel didn't want to help and encouraged me to return to the dealer from which I had purchased the vehicle (100+ miles away!), after I told them that I wanted them to be my primary service dealer, they were more open to helping. The service was done on time and was covered (as expected) under warranty. Keith was very friendly and helpful, and my only complaint was the initial scheduling as it seemed like they were disinterested in helping a future customer. More
Honestly, I have never been very fond of dealerships in the past as far as getting service done. They have always tended to be too pricey and lacked in their customer care. However, Garavel was a very diff the past as far as getting service done. They have always tended to be too pricey and lacked in their customer care. However, Garavel was a very different experience for me. Outstanding customer service and mechanics! They were able to fix my problems (a few bad ones) and get my car turned around to me in less time than was originally estimated. All this, and at a good price too. Believe me, I checked around and Garavel definitely saved me some good money. I will definitely trust them to handle all my service needs from here on out. Thank you to Keith (service Advisor) and the mechanic(s) working on my Wrangler. Especially the mechanic that stayed late to get my truck back the next morning. Keep up the great work! More
I woke up this morning to a flat tire on the driver's side. I have to drive to New York City and Brooklyn this weekend so I was a little concerned about getting this fixed today. When I took my truck to Garavel, Michelle Johnson quickly got a mechanic to take it in locate, seal, and fix the leak right away. I thought I was going to have to work from the lobby but no sooner had I turned on my laptop computer I was told my truck was done and ready to go! This place is the best and they have best people working for them!! More
