On September 17,2025 I had the transmission of my 2018 Frontier replaced at 36000 miles, which seemed odd as I had a 2003 frontier with 248,000 miles and no problems. Things were fine seemingly until 8/14 Frontier replaced at 36000 miles, which seemed odd as I had a 2003 frontier with 248,000 miles and no problems. Things were fine seemingly until 8/14,2006 when I had the truck inspected, it passed, but a transmission leak was detected, 8000 miles 8 months into a 12/12 warranty period. Truck went in for diagnostic, found dry, cost $105. On Set 1,2026 I had my oil changed and had the transmission checked again, this time Corey, shop manager, drove it to see if he could make it leak, I had also driven 35 miles prior to appointment, to try and recreate the leak. He was able to find a leak, a vent at the top of the transmission housing. After inspection it was determined that excessive transmission fluid was found, a quart plus. It was also stated that maybe someone else had done something with the transmission, this did not happen. Garvey Nissan installed the transmission repair and filled it with fluids and as it was under warranty, no one else touched it. I had work done by a different company prior to this repair but have not been back since and have had ball joints replaced, wheel bearing hub replaced and oil changes done in the same 8month period with no mention of transmission fluid leaks. Again, it was mentioned that maybe someone else had done work, or something. Things seem to be fine, but I am not reassured of the why of things. The truck was purchased, used, as is, from a Nissan Dealer in New Hampshire. This truck is not what I remember my 2003 Frontier to be, that truck was a workhorse, this truck not so much.
