I DO NO NOT RECOMMEND PAUL HORTON!!! I recently took my car in for service because I had a tire sensor stop working. Luckily it was covered under my warranty and they were able to get my vehicle fixed and back to me the same day. A few days after my visit I received a call from a lady from the dealership wanting to know if I would be interested in getting my vehicle appraised and possibly trade it in for another vehicle. I told her that the phone call was very well timed because I had been shopping around. We scheduled the appointment for the next night once I was off work. She instructed me to go to the new building. We got there about 5 minutes before my appointment because traffic was bad (I like to arrive earlier than that). We walked in to the new building and a gentleman instantly saw us and asked are you here to buy a vehicle today but not in a friendly tone. I told him possibly and that I was contacted by a lady who set up an appointment for me to get my vehicle appraised for a trade in. He then said oh no you’re in the wrong area you need to go to the used car building across the way. I explained to him she told me to come to the new building. So we went over to the used car building and they instructed me to go to the services department. Although once we got over near the services department we realized they closed an hour prior. So we went back into the new building and told someone we had an appointment with Paul because at this point I remembered that the lady told me to ask for Paul. (I guess the mistake on my part was not remembering his name to begin with). Because come to find out the salesman that first spoke with us was Paul. So I suppose Paul did not get the memo that I was meeting with him to get my vehicle appraised. He continued to ask me what kind of vehicle I currently owned, how much I still owed on it, and what I was looking for in a car. He didn’t seem very happy when I told him what I still owed on my vehicle and just gave off a vibe that it was a waste of his time. If I hadn’t spent 30 minutes driving across town to get my vehicle appraised through them I would have walked out because of his attitude. I also continued to explain to him about 3 times that I was looking into possible trading in my vehicle for a smaller suv that was all wheel drive. He then asked for my key and took it over to get appraised. After completing the appraisal he walked back in and told me the value they were willing to give me for my vehicle and then all he asked was what type of car I would be interested in. I explained to him for the 4th time a smaller suv that was all wheel drive. He then went silent as if he didn’t have any recommendations or didn’t want to do a deal with me. I said the only polite thing I could think to say and thanked him and said I would keep looking through their inventory online and see if I could find anything that interested me. I don’t understand why he wasn’t eager enough to assist me in trading in my vehicle or at least giving me a couple recommendations about possible vehicles I may like. In my opinion he works there and he should know the inventory very well. From his initial misguidance of where I should be for my appraisal, him not connecting that I was there for an appraisal and he has an appointment for an appraisal, and that he seemed highly uninterested in assisting me. This is exactly why I do NOT recommend Paul Horton as your salesman. He does not deserve the business. I didn’t realize you were supposed to come to a car lot knowing the exact car that you would like to purchase. I thought the whole point of a salesperson is for them to sell you on a car once you give them a couple guidelines of what you’re looking for. Other than having a warranty on my current vehicle and getting work done for free at this dealership because of my warranty I will never return to this dealership. (On a side not an older gentleman working at the time did walk through and ask if we wanted a water or anything while we waited. He was a very nice gentleman for asking and I wish he would have been our salesman.) More
