Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. We want you to become a part of the Gateway Chevrolet family, and believe, just as Joe Gambino, Sr did, that a family run business is the best type of business.
A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

One of the worst experience I have every had. I took my vehicle in for a oil change and to see if they tell me what was wrong with my display screen for my radio.(But for the problem with the rad I took my vehicle in for a oil change and to see if they tell me what was wrong with my display screen for my radio.(But for the problem with the radio display I would have went to Air Force Base) The radio worked. However, the screen displayed error reading on the screen. I arrived at 0900 hours and my appointment was as 0920 hrs. The service took entirely too long. I went outside looking for my vehicles at 1200 hours and discovered it was still with the technician in the bay with the hood open. I noticed the technician continuing dropping tools inside my engine and walking back and forward typing to recover said tool It seemed he could not see inside clearly. As he stayed on his tippy toes bending over the vehicle engine. He left the vehicles several time and returned and asked for help and finally was able to change the oil. I informed Cody I decided not to get the vehicle wash as it was taking too long and I had to go. I did not receive a the multi point inspection report. When The technician, Rigo Ruiz, parked my vehicle and I took the keys. (I had already paid Cody for the service) I had to removed the plastic off my seat, paper mat, and the card from my windshield before driving off at 1235 hours. More

Had another great experience at Gateway Chevrolet. I shopped other dealers only to find Gateway has the best bottom price all along. And by better, I'm talking several thousand dollars. Other dealersh I shopped other dealers only to find Gateway has the best bottom price all along. And by better, I'm talking several thousand dollars. Other dealerships even acknowledged them as the volume leader as I declined their offers. When researching online, they also had the largest selection of inventory as well. Lack of communication I was never called with an update. Always nice and kind to me. They do regular service on my vehicle but this last time was particularly great. I had to have my vehicle towed in for service and they originally to They do regular service on my vehicle but this last time was particularly great. I had to have my vehicle towed in for service and they originally told me it would be 3-4 days before they could look at it. To my surprise they looked at it the next day and we’re able to get me my vehicle back the day after that. I was so pleased. More
