Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. We want you to become a part of the Gateway Chevrolet family, and believe, just as Joe Gambino, Sr did, that a family run business is the best type of business.
A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

Got my oil changed and found that the car was leaking oil from the oil drain plug the next day. Tried to call twice and never got a call back from a service advisor. I should have checked the YELP reviews prior to coming to this dealer I would have gone elsewhere. We bought the truck in a Friday paid cash, and then from there it went down hill the dealership and sales gu this dealer I would have gone elsewhere. We bought the truck in a Friday paid cash, and then from there it went down hill the dealership and sales guy had terrible communication once they got their money. We didn’t get to leave with the truck because they were expecting a truck bumper for it and said it would be ready in Tuesday by the latest. We kept calling and checking in the truck and it wasn’t ready not until a week later, no one told the body shop that the truck was sold. We get the truck home and my husband notices the blinkers on the door mirror do not work. So he schedules an appt and takes the truck back they had it for two days and had not even looked at it yet, in the meantime I saw the YELP reviews and was worried about them doing anything to it all the reviews had been within the last month, so I call and told them to have the truck ready that I was picking it up, that we would take it elsewhere.
