Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. We want you to become a part of the Gateway Chevrolet family, and believe, just as Joe Gambino, Sr did, that a family run business is the best type of business.
A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

Dishonest service department. Recommended more than $1,000 of fluid replacement work, none of which needed to be done. Technicians don’t know anything about fixing cars. Took my truck with a issue with my suspension. They said that the control arms and cv boot was the issue. Paid them to fix it. They didn’t even rotated all my tires when they gave it a alignment. Just wanted to take money from. Went to the shop to get replaced parts that didn’t even fix the issue. More

I came from California to buy a Chevy Equinox for my daughter. It was a great experience working with Sherief (Sales) and Juan (Finance). I also met the Internet manager Justin. All were very friend daughter. It was a great experience working with Sherief (Sales) and Juan (Finance). I also met the Internet manager Justin. All were very friendly and we didn't feel any pressure at all. We completed all our work inside 3 hours and were on the road back to California. The prices were much lower than the CA dealers, which made it worthwhile to fly to Arizona. I will definitely consider this strategy again with Gateway when the time comes to buy a car for myself! Our Salesman Ceasar Delgado was great. Our paperwork wait time was awful!! Dislike dealers having you wait approximately 4 hours to complete your transaction when you see multiple employee Our paperwork wait time was awful!! Dislike dealers having you wait approximately 4 hours to complete your transaction when you see multiple employees walking around seemingly doing nothing then when you finally get called in you're told you're on the "fast track" for paperwork. What a joke! We've purchased at least 5 vehicles from Gateway and it's always been the same LONG wait. Now Service Department is the best we love dealing with John Sheldon. Thanks again to Ceasar you were very cordial and knowledgeable the wait was not your fault. More
