Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

Brought my car in at 11am appointment and didn't get the car back until 5:30. It's a Chevy spark with routine maintenance. I don't know why it took all day. Pointless to make an appointment. Aside from taking a long time for a simple oil change they claim they will wash your car but never do! I've gotten 6 oil changes there and they always say its going to take a little longer because of the they claim they will wash your car but never do! Only reason I keep going is for the vip care card that I purchased when. I bought the vehicle. When that is up im taking my business somewhere else More

I can’t say enough about Zach. His dad has taken care of I can’t say enough about Zach. His dad has taken care of my Chevrolet vehicles for years. Now Zach has taken over and does a great job of keeping I can’t say enough about Zach. His dad has taken care of my Chevrolet vehicles for years. Now Zach has taken over and does a great job of keeping you informed on the progress of your services. My 2021 Tahoe had a “Service Suspension”, come on and needed the 30,000 mile service. I made an appointment and Zach called me and asked if he could keep the Tahoe overnight. He needed a sensor that had to be overnighted. He kept the Tahoe and by 1PM the next day he had the part installed and called for me to pick up the Tahoe. It doesn’t get any better for service. ***** More
