Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. We want you to become a part of the Gateway Chevrolet family, and believe, just as Joe Gambino, Sr did, that a family run business is the best type of business.
A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

Worst customer service. Had our truck for 12 days and told us we had to leave it indefinitely to get it LOOKED AT…not even fixed. We explained we needed to have it to drive and they could call back when told us we had to leave it indefinitely to get it LOOKED AT…not even fixed. We explained we needed to have it to drive and they could call back when a tech wax available and they said no. If we take it we lose our place in line. Zero common sense. Should be able to put us in line and call us when ready so we can drop it off. The customer service is horrible. Asked for a manager to call us back and of course no return call. Picked up our truck and will never go here again! More

From start to finish I had an excellent experience purchasing my new 2022 Suburban LS at Gateway Chevrolet. Each and every phase of my purchase was handled properly, from my excellent sales person ass purchasing my new 2022 Suburban LS at Gateway Chevrolet. Each and every phase of my purchase was handled properly, from my excellent sales person assisting me through every step from beginning to end, to the conscientious inventory manager helping me put together my custom order and facilitating a timely build and on schedule delivery of my new vehicle, and lastly the very informative finance person explaining the finance process and all of different options available to me and providing me with accurate and complete purchase documents and a very competitive finance rate! I have made numerous new vehicle purchases and I can easily say that this purchase at Gateway Chevrolet has been the easiest and most satisfying of all! I couldn't be HAPPIER!
