Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

Very friendly dealership that takes care of their customers. This was my 2nd purchase with Gateway and i will definitely return to Gateway for my next vehicle purchase. This location is still a trash fire! I paid off this vehicle within a year of owning it, i will have the vip car service that i paid for when purchasing the vehicle. I booked an appointment for an oil c vehicle within a year of owning it, i will have the vip car service that i paid for when purchasing the vehicle. I booked an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation as well as condensation in a back tail light. My appointment was booked two weeks prior - appt was at 11:20 vehicle was dropped off well before appointment time and yet again this facility doesn't have staff to complete the work, which was brought to my attention when I had to call at 5 pm just for them to tell me the work hasn't been completed they don't have a technician and my car will need to be kept overnight and they don't have a loner car for me. This place is absolute trash! They can never ever accurately complete the work they schedule to do, the staff is unorganized and extremely unprofessional. This location is a managed of unprofessional misogynistic group of men, who are incapable of doing mechanic work for women in a timely and professional manner. Dominic is one of the most unprofessional service people I've never encountered and have refused to work with him, i asked for another attendant when booking and they have me Luis- the day of the appointment they gave me Dominic again and due to the previous experiences I refuse to even go to this location. I asked my father to pick up my vehicle the next day and the treated him as if he wasn't the individual who dropped off the car- they took the keys back into the office after parking it and wouldn't give him the keys! Because they were expecting me! My father had to go into the office let them know he was who brought Dominic the car and he wanted the keys to pick it up- they where expecting me. It's disgusting! The level of intimation and bulling from this staff is more than enough reason to report to the better business bureau. Accompany your wife, sister, daughter, mom or grandmother to this location! This sausage fest is not safe ! More
