Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. We want you to become a part of the Gateway Chevrolet family, and believe, just as Joe Gambino, Sr did, that a family run business is the best type of business.
A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

The service provider was very unprofessional. He did not take my vehicle concerns seriously. He made unnecessary comments about my vehicle usage. The communication was horrible and inefficient. I had to dive down to the dealership after already having dropped off my vehicle to have someone else involved. Whoever drove or repaired my vehicle messed with my personal belongings, specifically a stuffed animal on my dash board that changes expressions. It was altered. I have two rosaries on my front mirror which were altered as well. Every other vehicle I have owned has provided a car wash after service. My car was not washed, which was not too big of an issue but papers were left randomly throughout my car, on the dashboard, on the floor. Overall it was a horrible experience and I would not recommend this place due to lack of professionalism. More

Gateway’s prices were the best I could find in the valley. The sales person I dealt with was Jose Gonzales. I talked to Jose about the truck I was interested in and as soon as one was delivered Jose valley. The sales person I dealt with was Jose Gonzales. We didn't get the oil changed. You make appts. and it's a two hour wait. The service guy said they are short handed but yet you make appts. so the customer has to wait longer than usual.
