Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. We want you to become a part of the Gateway Chevrolet family, and believe, just as Joe Gambino, Sr did, that a family run business is the best type of business.
A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

I wanted to make this a 5-star review, however, during financing, we nearly signed away at an 8% interest rate when I qualified for a 4.89% interest rate. My husband asked while I was signing, what it cam financing, we nearly signed away at an 8% interest rate when I qualified for a 4.89% interest rate. My husband asked while I was signing, what it came in at and questioned it. I had been pre-approved. Turns out, it was a mistake? I did end up getting the proper rate, but to think I could be paying more than 2% more interest every month is upsetting. In addition, the delivery process was confusing and so unorganized. We were very pleased with the knowledge and non pushy sales rep Damian Garcia. He made us feel completely comfortable and gave us his complete attention through the entire process. For the first time, I sales rep Damian Garcia. He made us feel completely comfortable and gave us his complete attention through the entire process. For the first time, I actually enjoyed my car buying process. The only glitch was the wait to be seen by finance. I fully understand it wasn't anyone's fault because the amount of customers you had in the dealership (17 Apr). Damian stayed with us and kept us company the entire time. When I arrived to pick up my car from a service I was waiting for assistance for at least 15-20 minutes while other workers who were having conversations with coworkers or simply staring at their phones waiting for assistance for at least 15-20 minutes while other workers who were having conversations with coworkers or simply staring at their phones at their desk passed me by with not so much as a second glance in my direction. when I was finally approached to finish paperwork for my vehicle the attendant gave me the paper and my keys without reviewing anything with me or giving me any more information about what was found in my vehicle inspection. He also made the comment that when asked if anything could be done to change an issue that was found on my car that it was to late since they were closing at 6 and it was now 5:30 however I dropped my vehicle off 4 hours prior and received a call 20 minutes after I dropped it off that the car was ready for pick up. I am honestly so disappointed with the service here, I can understand if this was a one time occurrence but this has happened to me multiple times at this dealership. More
