Gatorland Toyota has always been our dealership of choice. We have only dealt with Brett Valentine on two occasions. He had always been professional, knowledgeable and pleasant, not to exclude helpf choice. We have only dealt with Brett Valentine on two occasions. It was first (5000 mile) service. Went smoothly and quickly. Everyone was very nice and professional. Only problem was I booked online and it wasn't synced with computer at service de Went smoothly and quickly. Everyone was very nice and professional. I thought I had finally found an honest dealership last year after I brought my 2015 Corolla in to Gatorland Toyota for its annual oil change and vehicle inspection, and actually left paying just for that, year after I brought my 2015 Corolla in to Gatorland Toyota for its annual oil change and vehicle inspection, and actually left paying just for that, i.e., there were no ridiculous and unnecessary "recommended services" as have been made at too many dealerships in my past. Alas, this year proved that assumption naive. For when I came back this year - for the same annual oil change and inspection, for the same Corolla upon which I had only added 5400 miles in the intervening year, and which was RUNNING EXACTLY AS WELL AS IT DID AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP LAST YEAR - I left with a laundry list of "recommended services" TOTALING $1200! Let me get this straight: I come in for a $50 oil change, and Gatorland Toyota tries to upsell me $1200 in "recommended services"? Uh, no. It's one thing to be charging $65 for a new pair of wiper blades (on a pair of wipers that are working just fine, BTW) and another thing to try to charge $43 for a "battery corrosion cleaning kit" that cost me $3 at Walmart (hey, I'm used to and prepared to pay higher service fees at a dealership - but over 10X more...???) but the final straw was this: Fuel Injector Cleaning Service: $270 Don't take my word for it - look this up online yourself. Nearly every source screams the same thing: RIPOFFFFFFFFF!!! [To summarize, today's fuel injectors are mostly self-cleaning, aided by gasoline additives you're already getting at the pump - and unless you are specifically and CURRENTLY having a problem with the way your engine is running (like sputtering, bad idol, knocking, etc.) YOUR CAR DOESN'T NEED THIS. It's one of the most infamous ways for a mechanic - or dealership - to pad a service bill.] I thought you were different Gatorland Toyota. I was wrong. And I won't be coming back again. More
