We worked with the sales and reached an Out-The-Door price. (Remember to keep the sheet that has the number you agree on!) Went to finance department and reviewed the paperwork. The total number on the contract is higher than OTD. They said it is additional service charge blah blah blah. I guess OTD is a joke and customers are idiots to them. Told us they have to call manager to take off the charge and came back real quick saying they can do us a "favor". Guess having dealers to keep their words is a favor. Also, the loan payment number is off. We used different online calculator and got a total interest number lower than the one they calculated. Of course, they blamed the system saying they have no idea. A finance officer cannot work out an easy loan payment? Incompetent or sneaky? What I learned is that dealer and customer are always on the opposite side of the table. However friendly they may look, they are thinking and calculating to their best interest. You are the only one who can protect yourself, so WATCH OUT! More
