The staff in the service department at Gerald Kia is great. Everyone is so polite and efficient. The waiting room is very comfortable. Our vehicles are kept in top shape by the technicians. We had a lifetime warranty that we felt wasn't being honored. In the end one of the owners stepped in, with the help of GM Chuck Settles and made sure that our issues were resolved. I purchased the life time warranty from Gerald Kia North Aurora in December of 2017 when purchasing my 2017, Sportage. We were informed that Gerald Kia "stands by their life time warranty," which is one of Aurora in December of 2017 when purchasing my 2017, Sportage. We were informed that Gerald Kia "stands by their life time warranty," which is one of the reasons we ended up purchasing ANOTHER vehicle from this dealership. When my engine failed on the Sportage while driving home from work I had my car towed to Gerald Kia. I was so grateful I had that "life time warranty" they "stood behind." Four weeks and 1,000 dollars later still no word.... later...I went into the dealership and Richard told me he had not submitted anything to the warranty company. At that time Richard told me my engine had informed me my "spark plug ignited causing low compression." Four weeks, after I contacted the General Manager, John called me and told stated he would submit the request to the warranty company. WHAT, I thought that had been done! Ten minutes later I received a call from John telling me they denied it due to "gaps" in the oil change. Bill (from the warranty co.) told me they denied it because they don't cover "low compression issues," and to read the "fine print." Another important piece of information I was told is, “life time" can also mean "100,000 miles or less." So, four weeks later I have a car that needs a new engine, at my expense for $8, 500.and a warranty that is absolutely worthless. I am beyond disappointed and feel very taken advantage of because I started out promoting and advocating for Gerald Kia because of the life time warranty covering the engine! Needless to say, I will not be returning to purchase another car from Gerald Kia of North Aurora. I will continue to investigate why it took four weeks to even submit a request to the warranty Co. and why I was told different information. Ultimately, I had my car towed to another service mechanic and have already received more information in less than 2 hours then I did in four weeks and 5 days from Gerald Kia. If you ever hear the words "life time warranty" mentioned as an incentive to buy...from Gerald Kia ...RUN!!..., to another dealership, or "read the fine print." More
The dealership denied in helping any further in my warranty claim. Seems like they’re more worried about the bottom line. Which stems from Kia themselves. Absolutely sad for the company and I will be moving forward in publicly sharing this experience of the location and company on TikTok with more than over 25 thousand followers. More

Service has gone down hill. Used to have great service but lately it’s been lack of contact, left in the dark, not helpful at all. Even been challenged on repair work saying I was wrong even when showing but lately it’s been lack of contact, left in the dark, not helpful at all. Even been challenged on repair work saying I was wrong even when showing things and questioning back. Used to bring two cars here for repair and even considered buying a new one. I’d be hesitant to. Was far from being welcomed. More
