Deem Collins addressed my problem, one that Nissan ignored Nissan didn't help me out when my car failed on a well known warranty issue because my 72 month warranty coverage expired one month ago, despite only Nissan didn't help me out when my car failed on a well known warranty issue because my 72 month warranty coverage expired one month ago, despite only having 32,000 miles on the car. Deen Collins took a personal interest to address this situation at the dealership level despite no held from Nissan who I talked to myself. Honestly, that was unexpected but very appreciated! Welcome to Gerald Nissan : Home of the scammers Well, I bought a 350z in 2008 (new) and received a fair deal. Even bought the extended warranty for$1600. Now this car was strictly a summer car and was never driven in the snow and hardly in the rain. It only has 34k miles on it and is maticulously maintained. Now the prob starts when I pulled it out of storage after not having driven it for a couple months. A service engine light was on, so I brought it in. I had just changed the oil about 2 weeks ago with full synthetic oil, like I always do every 3k-4k miles. I bring it in and here is where the "fun" begins. The service rep begins by telling me that a sensor was triggered because of lack of oil for a long period of time and here is where ALL the lying begins. He then tells me my engine oil level is currently a quart low and that I need a new engine!(lie#1) That's right, a new engine! Now I've been around cars my whole life, in the sense that I know how to maintain, store, and take care of a summer toy. My father had a salvage yard, body shop, and towing business all of which I worked at since I was 14. More to the point is that I know the shady tricks and scams the dealers work to try to scare you into repairs. After all, service reps work on commission too. So I asked him if the sensors ever go bad and his reply of "no"gives me lie #2. At this point he tells me that he needs to run a diagnostic test and drop the pan to check for metal shavings as Nissan won't cover it, even under my EXTENDED WARRANTY which I had (lie #3). I indicated I needed personal belongings out of the car at which point I went back to the service bay and proceeded to check the oil to find that it was FULL! I confronted him about it and he said "that's cuz it was sitting for awhile". Huh??? I should've left at this point but I agreed to the diagnostic fee of $158 and from that point I was told that there were metal shavings in the pan and my engine pressure was low (lies 4&5). I was then bombarded with calls asking me to do further tests in excess of $600. At this point I know that Edgar (the service rep) is trying to scam me. I told him that I want to pick up the car and take it somewhere else which he didn't like. He was persistent on keeping it there telling me that the heads needed to be pulled to check for damage and that $600 is the worst case scenario AND that I STILL need a new engine block in the end. After I said "no" , the SERVICE MANAGER, TOM, called me and said the car needs the tests in order to find out what's wrong. I told him I have the extended warranty and it should be covered. He said it probably would be....probably. Now in dealer terms that means you're about to get screwed. I was persistent on refusing the service and wanted to pick up my vehicle. Upon my arrival I was met by Tom and his entourage of BS. He said if I take it anywhere else that I would have to start over with the diagnostics and my repair bills would be big. Best line of all was " we don't want your money, we want you to be happy!". Now I did take it to another Nissan dealer in Woodfield and here's the best part of the story...they put two of their best mechanics on it for a couple days and THEY COULDNT FIND ANYTHING WRONG with it! On top of that, ALL the work and tests done were covered under my extended warranty. I only paid the $50 deductible. The mechanic called me and said the sensor will trigger with long periods of stasis (in storage) and he proceeded to tell me that my car was the strongest running and most well kept 350z he'd seen in a long time. In the end, I did get screwed out of $158, but at least I know who I'm dealing with at Gerald Nissan and what sort of scare tactics they use. If I can deter anyone from doing business with these guys, my experience was worth it. Best part of all was when I recorded my conversation with the service rep telling me I need a new engine even before any tests were done. Will be posting it on YouTube for anyone to hear. It's a joke, really. Just like Gerald Nissan is a joke. Don't go there. Now you can expect some cookie-cutter response from the Manager saying how important their customers are, blah, blah, blah. Try treating customers right, xxxxxxx. More

You have to walk out to it in the parking lot after paying so much money. Also, no one returns their phone call. I get it, you're busy. We're all busy. Now call us back. Lastly, when you are wrong, admit fault. Say "I'm sorry" and I will work to correct this. I really feel like this is a shady dealership each time I go here. Smile people, it might help. More
I bought my Altima in 2006.Was told I got a deal because my car was part of a fleet of Altimas with an engine issue. So, they were recalled and a new engine put in.So, that's good ...right??? In 2010 my car my car was part of a fleet of Altimas with an engine issue. So, they were recalled and a new engine put in.So, that's good ...right??? In 2010 my car starts making funny noises. I take it in. They say my oil is gone! Burning it some how. I get an oil change every 3,000 miles!!! Bone dry?? so, they change it. Same thing continues to happen time and again. Here we are in 2011 and I finally ask them maybe there is a problem with that new engine. They said what new engine? There was NEVER anew engine put in!! Apparently the dealer who sold us the car, lied ! In the meantime, I am still trying to figure out this oil issue! Mark treated my husband rudely. He is young and arrogant! He told me since Nissan didn't do my oil changes, then there is nothing they can do. What? I don't think so!! If my car is making noises and burning oil at lightening speed, then we have A PROBLEM! I DIDN'T CARE FOR THE SERVICE I RECEIVED FROM MARK. AND WE EVEN CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER AND GOT NO RETURN CALL! ONE WORD.... UNPROFESSIONAL ! More
