Painless Auto Purchase! Ran across Gerald Subaru online while researching a Subaru Outback purchase. Local dealer downstate did not have the vehicle selection on the lot tha Ran across Gerald Subaru online while researching a Subaru Outback purchase. Local dealer downstate did not have the vehicle selection on the lot that Gerald did, but my initial and subsequent contacts with Marie in internet sales were prompt, professoonal, and focused on getting me the information I needed to consider making a purchase a 140 miles away. Marie handed me off to Eddie, who talked with me about the process, and was ready and waiting when I arrived at the dealership the next day. He was professional, upfront, respectful, and there was no xxxxxxxx the entire time together. On my way up to Naperville I stopped by a Carmax to get a cash price on my trade, which was surprisingly fair. Having sold several cars to them before I thought I would end up doing it again. At Gerald, Eddie and I taked about my trade and what I was trying to accomplish, and he was able to essentially meet the Carmax price saving me the hassle of having to make acseparate stop and several hours to sell it to Carmax. Often the worst part about the purchase for me is sitting down with the Finance person to do the paperwork. I have found them often rushed, pushy, and the experience uncomfortable overall. This was entirely different with Anthony at Gerald. The process was smooth, we had a good comversation, and I felt comfortable accepting or declining the closing options he was offering (and mostly declined). When I was rethinking on of my declines, he sensed this and respectfully asked what I was comsidering, amd when I changed my mind he had no issues tearing up some of the completed paperwork and starting over. My wife thought I was crazy. Getting into a car that I was trading in, driving off to Carmax for an appraisal, driving 150 miles to Gerald Subaru, possibly having to stop by another Chicagoland Subaru dealer to shop them in price and tradein, possibly having to separately sell my tradein at a Chicago Carmax...... She is usually right. But I would do it again in a second. If you are attracted to the pricing at Gerald Subaru and coming from across town or across the state, my advice is to give it a shot. I saved money, and had a first class buying experience! More
