Eric realized that I am not a "car person" and am primarily interested in value, reliability, low emissions, and safety, particularly for driving from Chicago to Southwest Michigan, which can be treacherous in the winter due to lake effect snow. He did not press me to buy luxury features or a larger car (Outback or Forester) that would have added cost but not added to meeting my objectives.
