My experience at Groove Toyota was one of the most stressful, misleading, and unprofessional dealership visits I’ve ever had. Vinny, Chuck, and Luis pushed aggressively for my wife and I to put down a stressful, misleading, and unprofessional dealership visits I’ve ever had. Vinny, Chuck, and Luis pushed aggressively for my wife and I to put down a $1,000 deposit, repeatedly calling it “refundable,” even though both the credit‑card form and the sales form clearly said NON‑REFUNDABLE in the fine print. When I questioned it, Chuck tried to claim their “past GM didn’t allow refunds” and that the paperwork was “outdated,” but they would “honor” a refund anyway, which was clearly not true. They also told us there were no hidden fees, yet the paperwork included a credit‑card surcharge of around 3% that they never disclosed upfront. During the test drive, we explained that we needed a bigger vehicle because of our two little ones at home, who were being babysat that night. We also told them we had spent the entire day in Boulder for a graduation and dinner before heading south. Even with all of that, they continued to pressure us to stay. They kept us there past closing, until about 930 PM insisting we wait for a pre‑approval that realistically wasn’t going to come through that late at night. It felt like they were doing everything possible to keep us from leaving, despite knowing we had children waiting at home. Vinny the sales advisor and Chuck the salesman worked together to keep us at bay the entire time. Luis, the finance/gap guy, told us they would only hold the vehicle until noon the next day, even with a down deposit because he said that we were going to waste their time selling the vehicle to other potential customers.... (Yep, putting a deposit means nothing here). What made the whole situation even more suspicious was the time wasted and the timing of everything. The vehicle had been listed for 21 days with no interior photos on their website, and the moment I reached out, they suddenly claimed it needed to be “detailed and inspected.” At the same time, they told us another customer was “already looking at it,” even though the website still had no interior photos and they admitted it had to go through inspection first. The whole thing felt engineered just to get us in the door. The funny thing, Chuck had called and texted me 3–4 times earlier that day, pushing us to come in “first thing in the morning” to test drive the van. Begging us even when I had told him that day was going to be busy for me, but I made the mistake to make it out that way later in the evening. After holding us up all night, he ghosted us the next morning and didn’t respond until the afternoon only to say the vehicle had sold. They also told us they would take $750 off the sale price, but the OTD numbers they presented didn’t include that discount at all. Before that Chuck tried to sell me a windshield warranty he no clue about (didn't even know how long it was covered for). They mentioned that the tax rate I was going to pay was going to be near 2.5k~ in taxes for a 10+ year old car even though I live in a unincorporated tax county. In the end they tried to rush us into signing paperwork that didn’t match what they promised. And the urgency they created was completely fake. Chuck claimed the sales advisors were about to sell the vehicle “any moment,” but when we arrived, the keys were sitting in their repair shop, nowhere near being shown or sold. We showed up unannounced to get a scoop of the dealer. To top it off, they pulled a hard credit check the next morning, and we didn’t even get approved but we had mentioned we were already pre-approved with our credit union long after they pressured us to stay. The entire experience felt manipulative, disrespectful, and completely out of line with what a dealership should be. If you value honesty, transparency, and basic respect for your time and family, be extremely cautious here and read every line of fine print because what they say and what they actually present on paper a More
