I tried repeatedly to resolve the situation privately. It was only as a last resort that I posted public reviews....and consulted a lawyer. I am disappointed that it was only after the public shame that anyone cared to help. If you care to look up what happened, my name is Amy Foley, my husband is Trevor Foley, and it is my son's car (Conor Foley) that was involved. Sadly, this was my son's first car purchase. To have it turn out so poorly is devastating. When we were test driving the car, the check engine light came on. Loving everything else about the car, my son moved forward with the purchase with the agreement that GL would resolve the issue. We also had a 3 month, 3000 mile warranty. GL kept the car for a week, said they couldn't find any issues, but after clearing the check engine light it did not come on again. My son had the car for a week when the light came back on. We made an appointment to bring it in, and that is when the nightmare started. After two days with no word, my husband called to check. And so began the cycle. Before my review was posted, GL had had the vehicle for five weeks and not once...NOT ONCE....did anyone from the service department reach out to us. My husband initiated all of the communication. And it wasn't as though he was bugging them incessantly. He was calling just once a week out of exasperation. Every time he called, they were "looking at it right now"or waiting for a tool. Twice we asked to speak to the manager. Both times we were told he would call us. Both times my husband -- after waiting more than a day -- called the manager himself. When we hit five weeks with no progress, I contacted a lawyer and wrote several public reviews. Lo and behold, suddenly people were calling us, and within days the car was fixed. I hope you now understand my review. When my husband picked up the car, he asked the manager about extending the warranty, since GL was in possession of the vehicle for 6 of the 12 weeks. He told my husband that was reasonable and that he would talk to some and "get back to him" the next day. Of course, we never heard back from him. I hope you will at least appreciate that fact that I am not publishing this Pat of the narrative publicly. But I hope you also understand that short of refunding some of my son's purchase price, there is very little you can do to make this abominable situation any better. I have no intention of ever doing business with GL again.

Interesting. They did not try to make it right. I have since purchased from CASTLE SUBARU in Portage. Ask for Jay (Jermaine) Ellis, although everyone from sales to service is kind and respectful, bending over backwards to help you!

There was absolutely NO attempt to make it right. Proof: If there had been, I would have purchased a car from them….if not that day then a few days later when the vehicle was ready. I had it narrowed down to their Forester and one almost identical at Castle in Portage. They dismissed me….NO, “Hey, we’re sorry for the misunderstanding. We can have the vehicle ready in a few days and you’ll get first crack at it.” So, I drove to CASTLE SUBARU in Portage and bought the almost identical one from Jay Ellis!
