On the first visit with Chad (service advisor) the customer did not disclose the fact that the tires were just replace so Chad had the TPMS light “reset”. As the customer stated he had to return the next day with the TPMS light back on. When I (Bob, service advisor) greeted the customer, I noticed as part of my walk around of the vehicle that it had new tires, then I asked the customer if this light came on around the same time as the tire replacement and he told me that Kaffman Tire had replaced the tires and a TPMS sensor they damaged. At that time I explained to the customer that had Chad known the TPMS sensor was replaced a “reset” of the light will not fix the problem that all four TMPS sensors had to be recalibrated even after a single sensor replacement. I agreed to perform the recalibration at no charge this time. During the process there was another sensor found to be damaged on the driver’s rear. The customer took the car and told me he was going to contact Kaufman Tire. About a month later the customer returns asking another advisor to “reset” the light. At that point the customer was asked what Kaffman replaced and he said they replaced both rear TPMS sensors and again asked us to “reset” the TPMS light. That was when he was informed that there would be a fee of $105.00 to perform the recalibration. I asked him who broke the sensors. He stated the Kaufman tire damaged it. Even though Kaufman damaged the sensor, the customer felt like we should perform the service at no charge and give him a free TPMS sensor. Is this fair for us to pay for a TPMS sensor that Kaufman tire damaged?

After reading the reply from the Bob, the service adviser from Gwinnett Place Honda, I found many of his claims are incorrect and twisted without fact. 1. His statement 'About a month later the customer returns' is not correct. I have proof that the first time I met him on 12/31/2009 and the last time was on 01/13/2010. It took 2 weeks for Kaffman to order, and schedule to replace the TMPS sensor, especially during the holiday. I returned to Gwinnett Place Honda 2 days after they replace the sensor to reset/recalibrate the sensor( I DID NOT ask for a new sensor from Gwinnett Place Honda, get your fact right, Bob).Bob tried to implied I was riding on the problem to get worst before return to Gwinnett Place Honda. This is false claim on Bob part. 2. I DID NOT request Gwinnett Place Honda to give me a free sensor in all my contact with Bob or any service advisor. Kaffman already replaced both sensors( the one Bob claimed to be faulty and the one Kaffman did break and replaced). Why do I need another sensor for ? For paperweight ? Bob tried to impled I am an unreasonable customer who want to get everything free from Gwinnett Place Honda. This is again is not true. 3. The sensor Bob claimed was faulty is on the driver rear but the sensor Kaffman broke was on the passenger rear, These are 2 DIFFERENT SENSORS in 2 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. Kaffman did not break the sensor Bob claimed to be faulty and Bob want to charged me $193 to 'fix' the sensor .Kaffman claimed they did not break the driver side rear sensor. As a 'service oriented professional' , Bob gave me an impression that he is not capable to distinguish which item is under warrenty and which is not. 4. When Bod approach me with a $193 estimate to replace the driver rear sensor, he was not able to tell me whether the sensor is broken or faulty. When Bob found out the sensor he claim to be faulty was NOT the same one Kaffman broke, he tried to implied that Kaffman might broke the other as well. Let's assu

The TPMS of my Honda CRV need to be checked, re-calibrated to make it return to it normal condition. Since the faulty sensor Gwinnett Place Honda discovered is different from the one broken by Kaffman and there is not possible way( according to Bob) to determine it is a faulty part(which would be under warranty) or damaged( outside of warranty ). To show my good faith, I am willing to split the cost of the $105 quote from Bob and pay $52.50 to have the TPMS working again. I think this is a fair and reasonable solution to resolve my concern and at the same time not taken advantage of Gwinnett Place Honda as Bob implied in his reply.
