Carlos Rodriguez was really helpful with the process, we were pre approved with Capital one so we already knew what we wanted, he was able to help us fine the car on the lot and gets us squared away. *** BEWARE BOGUS AND BLOATED FEES *** To everyone buying a car - BEWARE of Hgreg!! Their slogan is "car buying redefined", but in reality it should be 1970's sleazy car salesmen gimmicks galore! 1. When a car - BEWARE of Hgreg!! Their slogan is "car buying redefined", but in reality it should be 1970's sleazy car salesmen gimmicks galore! 1. When you get there - you have to go through a 17 slide Power Point Presentation before you are ALLOWED to look at their inventory. 2. When you get the vehicle pinned down, you are then presented with their purchase "offer". It has all the regular stuff - price of the vehicle, any trade in value, tax, tag, title, doc fees, etc. But then you notice that a $24K car has jumped to over $30K. How? 4. $500 "License Fee" (separate from tax, tag and title) When questioned - they said it was to take care of any toll violation you may have? We do not have any violations I assure you. 5. $699 "Electronic Filing Fee". They claim that this is a state fee, which it is NOT. And if they knew anything they would know that electronic filing actually streamlined the registration/tax and title portion of the transaction compared to the mail and wait model of yesteryear, so we should be getting a discount, not a fee. 6. $795 "Protection Plan". This is a bogus charge that they came up with that is quite comical. It "ceramically" coats your windshield to protect from flying debris while driving and if you stain or rip your carpet - they will repair it - for like a year or two. This is absolutely a xxxxxxxx package. Any dealership charging something like this knows it is a USELESS no-value added profit-stuffer for them. 7. $1299 "Pre Service Delivery Fee". When asked about this one, we had to laugh. This is some 1970's used car salesman xxxxxxxx right here. This is to "pay for the building, the lights, gas, the sales peoples salary, auction fees, delivery charges and other expenses like ADVERTISING". This is where we pointed that the price of the vehicle should have figured all of that in there, and we were told LOL... get this - it is "illegal" for them to put any profit in the price of the car". These people are so crooked and comically stupid at the same time! This added almost $3,500 to the price of the car! When asked to take it off, they looked me dead in the face and said "We do things differently here, we are transparent about our business dealings, and we do not negotiate on price or MANDATORY fees. I told them that the fees are NOT mandatory and if they wanted my business, that they would have to take these ridiculous xxxxxxxx fees off. They refused. I got up and left. Now the funny part - Remember that they said that they CANNOT negotiate off MANDATORY fees, right? Well when you walk out on a 1970's style Used Car Salesman, they tend to slither around uncomfortably on their belly a bit. They called us back and said: "Mr. Latino, we understand you are upset and we want to earn your trust and business, so the managers here all got together and decided that we are willing to remove the "Protection Package" from the price. ROFLMAO! (and when asked about the other crappy fees - we were told that all that they can do is get rid of the protection package. Now mind you - they were ADAMANT that none of these fees were negotiable and absolutely 100% could NOT be removed under any circumstance - they doubled down on it to the point I walked out remember? Well now it must be a miracle from God, because they broke down and removed that one fee. Just to let you know - I did NOT return. They LIED to me. They said that the fees were non negotiable.... but clearly they are. You lie to me ONCE - I am done with you - forever, period. Bye Bye Hgreg of Orlando, keep playing your games - all you are doing is forcing people like us to forget dealerships and their games and go to Carvana instead ( by the way - got home and 20 minutes later found a truck I wanted - it is being delivered on Friday. No fuss, no stupid fees and absolutely no gimmicks. PS - I would like to add that they also low balled me on my trade in. They were a full $2000 off of the KBB Instant Cash Offer AND a full $1800 off of the Carmax offer we got. When we brought this up they acted like we were stupid and that if those people wanted to offer me that much - go there instead. Yeah - GREAT customer service is NOT their strong point. The last few months have made these dealerships think that they can screw people over on car deals - all it has done is made us never want to go a dealership ever again. More
