They were polite, not pushy, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure you drive away in a car that you are 100% happy with. They take extra time out to make sure their customers are pleased; they replaced my front tires at no cost that were worn down and probably would have to be replaced sometime in the next year. They also have a special "Mr. fix it dent/scratch guy" who removes all the car's blemishes before you leave-you definitely don't find that kind of service everywhere! John was great to work with and was always asking the right questions until we found the vehicle that was the perfect 10/10. More
Everyone was very professional from the time I made inquiries until the time I actually purchased a vehicle. The whole process of buying a vehicle was about as smooth as it ever could be and I would gl inquiries until the time I actually purchased a vehicle. We found this place on car gurus.I was looking for a low mileage newer car for my daughter with no outrageous monthly payement. We drove 80 miles to this place. When I pulled up to the building I was scared mileage newer car for my daughter with no outrageous monthly payement. We drove 80 miles to this place. When I pulled up to the building I was scared. This building did not look like a dealership.I was thinking oh my I just drove 80 miles for this. What kind of place is this. I found a place to park and was greeted as soon as I parked. The salesperson took me to my salesperson that I was texting the previous day. we sat and talked and they were honest and up front about everything. They would not even let my daughter test drive the car until she got qualified cause they did not want her to get her hopes up. I loved it.A lot of sales people will have you test drive before the qualified process and get your hopes up and then try to soak money out of you or just shatter your hopes. At Hampstead they did not do that. Their goal is to help you get the car you want but be truthful and realistic to your needs. They kept our payments low and met all our needs. They explained everything in detail, no rushing you through the process. They even printed my daughter payment calendar so she knows exactly when she pays. She wanted to choose to pay biweekly and the set that up for her. They still have been taking care of our needs and questions after we let the lot with the car. I would definitely recommended going here.Give it try. What do you have to lose. More

We had such a great experience at Hampstead Pre-Owned! I had been to four other dealerships to test drive cars, and you kind of get used to that sly way that dealers will casually talk to you, trying to get had been to four other dealerships to test drive cars, and you kind of get used to that sly way that dealers will casually talk to you, trying to get information and leaving you with a vague sense that you probably shouldn’t trust them, even if they’re so likeable. My sister told us to go to Hampstead where they got their car, and we had a totally different experience there! We interacted with many different people, and no one left us with that sense of being taken advantage of. Michael Gillespie in particular was very straightforward and professional, answering all our questions clearly and not pushing us at all. They mainly sell Hondas and Toyotas, so they don’t really have to be heavy on the sales pitch. We chose the car, left a refundable deposit to have some cosmetic touches fixed up, and came back a few days later and purchased. We were refunded the deposit, and drove home in a GREAT new car that will be reliable for another 10 years! So thankful to Michael and the whole team there for treating us with respect and courtesy. We appreciate it and will be back. More

I don't appreciate being threatened by the owner and staff UPDATE 1: I spoke to a manager, Jason. He agreed to let us bring the car in on a saturday, and his mechanic would look at it. No promised to repair we UPDATE 1: I spoke to a manager, Jason. He agreed to let us bring the car in on a saturday, and his mechanic would look at it. No promised to repair were made, and that;s fine. I agreed. Update 2: Less than an hour later, the owner/GM called me. He proceeded to yell and me and threatened us. He told me he didn't give a damned what Jason told me. I have to presume Jason spoke to him before making his offer to me though. I told him I would update this with the facts that he gave me. 1) He sold this car to a friend of his, who was buying it for my friend. 2) He sold it AS-IS. 3) We still owe money for the repair that they did. 4) The friend who was bought it was supposed to handle any repairs. 5) He took a $1000 loss on the car. ALL OF THAT IS TRUE! (Though I doubt that any dealer would ever take a loss on the car. JMO, but maybe he is actually telling the truth. And he proceeded to threaten me. This review needs to come down or he will sue for every penny in small claims court! (6 or 7 hundred dollars) So, what have we learned from the company who's slogan is "Our reputation is our foundation:" Their reputation is more important than selling quality vehicles. NEVER buy a car from them that is sold "AS-IS!" I wonder how many other bad reviews got taken down because of threats of a lawsuit? Maybe zero, maybe a lot. I don't know. Will I take down this review? Nope. Will I update it, whether positive or negative? Absolutely. Here is the thing. When the radiator broke, and the car kept stalling, we didn't post a bad review. We didn't expect it to be fixed for free. We expected that they would repair the car. When the transmission was dying, we didn't expect them repair it for free. would have been nice, but it could have been a quick easy fix, or the transmission could have needed complete replacement. We just wanted them to treat us fairly. And not to be complete xxxxxxx. Maybe if Erika had offered to have her guys look at the transmission instead of attacking me for telling the world that the transmission was dying, we wouldn't be here. Maybe if they would change their attitudes, I could believe that this was a one off. My guess is that they treat all disgruntled customers like this. Yelling and threatening. Nice way to do business, guys. Nice foundation. Had a problem with a car recently purchased, working with them to see what can be done. Here is the long and short of our adventures with them: We bought a car from them. Within a month, the radiator gasket went, and the car over heated on a trip from ocean city to Rockville. In the winter. Car died on side of the road. Hampstead was "Nice enough" and picked the car up and repaired it. Repairs at OUR cost. because Erika from the business office said they are not psychic. They were also "generous" and let us drive the car away, and make payments on the vehicle. We still owe money on those repairs. Yesterday, while making a payment over the phone, I complained to Erika about it, and oh, the transmission was having problems. I also put up a one star review. She insisted I take the review down, because it was untrue about the transmission. "We don't know whether there is a problem with the transmission." Well this morning, the transmission died, on my friends way to work. She may lose her job now. The car is slipping out of gear, but she is trying to make it to work, so she does not lose her job. I left a message for Erika letting her know the transmission is dying or will be dead shortly. We will see whether they will cover repairs to the transmission. Oh, and apparently, they never bolted the engine back in properly, because it is rattling, a lot. I will update this review with any progress, good or bad. Hopefully they will stand by their slogan about their reputation. More
