This is clearly the best Honda dealership in Indiana, probably in the U.S. I usually do not write reviews and be very upbeat about it, but Terry Lee did prove to be a great dealership. I was in touch wit More

We take customer complaints very seriously and do our best to rectify situations where we have made a mistake or performed less than satifactory work. In May 2010 this customer called us from Kentucky looking for a rare Civic Si model that we had in our inventory, which we agreed to sell to him at an agreed upon price. He also told us that he had a vehicle to trade in and we gave him an estimate of what we would give him for his vehicle. We also told him that he may be eligible for a tax credit based on the value of his trade in vehicle. Unfortunately he didn't inform us until after he arrived at the dealership that he didn't own the vehicle he was trading, but rather that he had leased it. (One lesson we've learned from this experience is to make sure and ask about this issue when similar circumstances arise in the future) Because the vehicle was leased, rather that purchased, the taxes that he was charged was for the full purchase price of the vehicle, as he didn't qualify for the tax credit. The difference in taxes that he would have to pay without the tax credit was substantial. This was something that was made very clear to him by the sales person and the sales manager before he ever talked with the business manager who drew up all the paperwork necessary to complete the purchase. Since it was an out of state purchase, we also informed him that the tax laws in Indiana require everyone to pay 7% sales tax on any vehicle that will be driven on an Indiana road. We also told him that he should not expect a refund from Kentucky even though their tax rate is less than ours. We let him know, that considering the cirucumstances, we would certainly understand if he decided to not purchase the Civic. Although he was getting a fairly rare vehicle at a very good price we were surprised that he ultimately decided to complete the purchase. Regarding the window tinting, he was never charged for the window tint. Even though we never charged him for the tint, he has declined our offer to re do the work. We are very disappointed that this customer is not completely satisfied and wish the circumstances surrounding his experience with Terry Lee Honda had been different.

I would like to politely clarify. The issue is 3 months old so our 2 viewpoints seem a little skewed. I most certainly paid for Tint. The Car invoiced @ $21,546 and $250 window tinting was added totalling $21,796. Verify it with your service/sales records if you'd like but please don't claim I didn't pay for tint when I very clearly did. I rejected your offer to fix the tint additionally because I am not a resident in your state and it is not worthwhile for me to travel back there to fix it. I conceed that you at least partially tried to make good on that. I'm an out of state customer, and the amount should have simply been refunded. Additionally, the issue of a tax credit mistake for trading a leased car in when purchasing the new car was frustrating but forgivable and was clarified by the finance manager. The issue that still absolutely infuriates me is that It was explained that I since the tax rate differs in our 2 states, that I would receive a refund of 1% back when registering the car in my own state due to the differences in tax between our states. It absolutely in no way was made clear to me that this is ONLY true if the car is shipped to me not driven home. I was already frustrated because of the previous lease issue so it was mentioned that they have done plenty of out of state deals and I would CERTAINLY receive a tax credit back of 1% when registering the vehicle back in my state. I left frustrated but glad it was over with wishing I could have just ordered the car directly from HONDA thereby skipping any possibilities of the mentioned mistakes. Now when finally registering the car in my state, I was informed that no credit could be issued because the car was driven home. I was appalled and immediately contacted the finance manager who had completed my deal. He was surprised as well that I could not receive the credit and had to then call his state Department of Revenue to verify what he told me was actually incorrect. PLEASE note that this is of course after I had purchased the car and driven home to register (details get confused when going through others). Therefore, the finance manager, as well as myself were both surprised to learn that there could be no tax credid in this manner because I had driven the car home. This may have unknown to the finance manager. But we discussed that there would definately be a 1% return of the tax when I got to my state and he even instructed me which form to submit (Form ST-108) in order to get a 1% difference. He mistakely told me I would get this PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP. We only came to the conclusion that this was information was erroneous after I tried to register the vehicle and then contacted him in an attempt to clarify. It was a meger $351 approx. but that equates to almost one car payment which in times like these would have been greatly appreciated. My issue has always been the simple fact that I was missinformed by the finance manager of a tax rebate. I understand how he could have confused the issue as tax law is ridiculously arbitrary and overly technical. The technicality missed was that there cant be a credit on a vehicle driven home. This was not understood by both myself and the finance manager until after the purchase and then we both sadly learned that he had mistakenly informed me not being aware of this slight technicality. I was quite upset and obviusly still am because I expected Terry Lee to make good on there mistake and simply credit me back this trivial amount or at the very least refund the charge for the tint but NOTHING was done. NO came from the GM. No resolution... NOTHING. That is EXACTLY what happened. That is WHY I am frustrated and dissatisfied. A simple credit back of what was mistakenly promised was all that was asked for and I tried to go about it in the politetest of ways but continually got no simpathy or effort from the management to live up to the claimed integrity of the dealership and concerns for the customer. I ask anyone reading this... how could I NOT be frustrated after all this... you didn't even offer an apology. All the best in the future and at the very least you admitted to learning something about clarification and due dilegence Still Dissatisfied P.S. My Kudos on the immediate damage control for the online reviews.... NICE WORK. Probably would have been easier just to give the customer a more personal appology and made right due to the misunderstanding. Better luck next time
