When I buy something - especially something expensive - I spend a lot of time in research: both for "what" I'm going to buy as well as "where" I will buy it. I was already planning on likely buying from Harper again since I'd had a great experience three years previously when I purchased my TL-S there, but out of curiosity, I thought I'd just check the reviews on dealerships across the surrounding region. So I looked at Nashville, Chattanooga, Johnson City, Roanoke, Lexington (Ky), Asheville, Charlotte, Greenville (SC), Atlanta, and several other dealerships in smaller towns in North and South Carolina. What I found confirmed my decision to buy from Harper even more: they set the bar for customer satisfaction in Acura dealership reviews. I then reviewed their current sales staff to see if the person who sold my TL-S was still with them. He wasn't (but he's with a neighboring Harper family dealership), but I found the name of a salesperson (Mark Cauthen) whose name I'd seen listed in numerous favorable reviews and left him a voice message. He got back to me shortly, and we set up a time for my wife and I to come down and see what they had to offer. From the time we arrived until the time he shook our hand and we drove away with our new MDX, the whole experience was pleasant. Mark allowed us to freely test drive three (3) different vehicles without riding along in the car and distracting us with incessant sales chatter. Instead, we felt like family. He was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicles; could answer every question I posed to him; and worked with us to negotiate a very fair price for the MDX. He has followed up with us a couple of times to see if we are satisfied for our purchase, and to ensure all's well, offering to help in any way if anything's amiss. So if/when you find yourself in the market for a vehicle - new or used - and you're considering, or have settled on an Acura, I would highly encourage you to give Harper Acura serious consideration. Take it from me, the reviews of the many other customers, or just research it for yourself - online or in person - and I believe you'll come to the same conclusion I did: these folks run a world class dealership and will treat you right! Recall I have had to have a few recalls done on my MDX and Harper has been my dealer of choice. Every time I have dealt with Ray who has been extremely profe I have had to have a few recalls done on my MDX and Harper has been my dealer of choice. Every time I have dealt with Ray who has been extremely professional, helpful (I have 2 small children so 2 car seats) and has provided me with a loaner that I can easily place my children's seats in. He has made sure the work is in a timely fashion and if for any reason there is a delay has kept me informed. They always conduct a thorough inspection of my truck and recommend any needed services. I will definitely continue to use them in the future and hope to purchase my next MDX from them! More
