On Friday, June 16, 2023, I started looking for a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Sport, I received several text and email messages with pricing. One was from Hawk Subaru of Joliet. Erin sent me a text; with the e Subaru Crosstrek Sport, I received several text and email messages with pricing. One was from Hawk Subaru of Joliet. Erin sent me a text; with the exact vehicle I was looking for and of course the price. I told her the price was good and I would schedule an appointment. To that end, I scheduled an appointment with Michael for the next day, Saturday at 10:30 A.M. When my wife and I showed up at exactly 10:30 a.m., Michael stated he was with another customer, and we would have to wait. After 30 minutes plus, we left. Total travel time and wait time exceeded two (2) hours. Later that day, I received a text apology from Michael asking to reschedule the appointment. After numerous text messages and emails, we set an appointment for Monday, at 1 p.m. I advised him I am retired military and I am very prompt. Please plan on meeting with us at the agreed upon time, with the agreed upon price! Upon arrival at the dealership, he showed me the price of the vehicle, which did not match the price from Erin. I showed him the numerous text messages and the price from Erin. He then called in his manager Rocco. They stated that Erin made a mistake, and they could not honor the written price. I questioned the ethics behind this whole situation. Michael had numerous opportunities to correct the price, instead of wasting another two (2) plus hours of my time. Rocco stated they would lose money on the deal. They would not budge a penny. I wonder how much business they will lose by me posting reviews on this website, the American Legion, VFW, BBB and other legal entities in the State of Illinois! Well happy ending. I called Gerald Subaru of Naperville and worked out a deal in less than 20 minutes, over the phone. Same vehicle, same color, same options and a lower price. Robert accomplished what this dealership couldn't in < 20 minutes, In this military retiree's opinion, I would stay away from this dealership. If they treat a decorated veteran this way, how do you think they will treat you? More
