From the start, it was a great experience. Ryan Narus was more of an assistant in trying to assess what my needs were more than being a salesman. Very friendly, Ryan came up to me and introduced himself with a smiling face and a positive attitude, while complimenting my Carolina Panthers hat (I'm a big Panthers fan). I never felt hassled or pressured by him; he was always customer-focused and was looking for what I wanted, not pushing me. I came in twice total and the first time he didn't pressure me or use the "what can I do to get you in a car today" pitch. He had the attitude of "if the customer wants the car they will get it" instead of being overly pushy - he actually said those words to me. I feel like I got a great deal from the dealership and wasn't being pressured. Overall, it was a great experience, and I am thrilled with my 2010 Accord EX-L. Beautiful car! My wife and i were very scepticle and leary, and quite frankly, dreading going to shop for cars. You hear all the horror stories and the distrust that seems to rear it's head when auto shopping. i first looked for cars on auto trader and the one caught my attention was being sold by Hendrick Honda on South Blvd. I contacted the dealership thru an on-line chat to see if the car was still available and was told they wouid check and have a rep call me. Within 2 hours I received a voicemail from Ned Hindi saying they did have the car still and would love me to come look at it. I waited a couple of days while I continued to look on-line. I received another call from Ned saying he would love to have me come down to test drive the car, so I agreed. My wife and I went down after work at 6:30 PM and was promptly greeted by Ned.......we drove home in our 2011 Camry that night! Ned was nothing like I expected. He was friendly, sincere, caring, and went above and beyond my expectations. There was no haggle, no back and forth......I told him what I wanted my monthly payment to be and he made it happen. I got a fair price on my trade-in (a 1998 rav 4 with over 300k miles on it) and a great price on the vehicle. Scott Byrely, the sales manager was great to interact with, just very down to Earth. But I can't say enough about Ned. He treated us with such respect and care that I will refer him to anyone who wants an enjoyable car shopping experience. I now consider Ned my friend! More
I have been in a couple Honda dealerships but, Hendrick Honda has an excellent quality of service. Buying my new Honda Odyssey was a nice experience in this dealership. I was pretty upset about an experience I had at Priority Honda and was at the dog park talking about my experience with the other dog owners. One of the gentlemen was listening to what I was saying and introduce himself and told me he worked at Honda, Rock Hill. Peter Pistone told me the sales people at Hendrick Honda (South Blvd) would actually listen to me and give me a fair Trade In for my 2010 Honda Fit and a fair offer for the 2013 Honda Insight EX W/ Navigation. I was a little skeptical but had an appointment 10:00 AM with Charles Harris. When I went to Hendrick Honda(South Blvd), there were two men that said hello and do I need any help. I told them I had an appointment with Charles Harris. Next thing I know I meet Charles and one of the men I met earlier would be the sales person, Sam Anders. I explained very clear to Sam Anders that I did not want to negotiate for a new car, that since having a massive stroke I have Aphasia and get tongued tied in conversations. Instead I was prepared with the Kelley Blue Book information which I have printed out for the new car pricing for the 2013 Honda Insight EX W/ Navigation and my Trade in. Sam actually listened to what I was saying and looked at my documents. He explained that the 2013 Honda Insight EX W/ Navigation was not on their lot, and helped me look at the Exterior Colors and rate from 1 to 5 for the cars, this way they could get a car sent to their lot in colors that I like. As I was talking with Sam, I finally became at ease. When he came back with the quote I was actually surprised that quote was almost what I expected. This was a breath of fresh air…not the “normal” dog and pony show. I still was not going to buy that day because there was a $1000 difference between what I wanted to pay and what they offered. Sam introduced me to one of the Sales Consultants, Kelvin Parsons. Kelvin asked me what could they do to earn my business, I gave him my paperwork and explained why I think what I should pay. After talking with Kelvin he asked me what can he do to make the sell and I said you need to meet me in the middle and split the $1000 in half. He looked at me and knew I was saying this is my final answer and said “done”. Wrote it down on the offer and took it into the sales office and came back with the final offer. I did end up buying the 2013 Honda Insight EX W/ Navigation, put down $500 and waiting for the call in a couple of days to pick up my new car. This is what GREAT sales people do…they listen, they look at documentation that a customer is bringing, give an offer that a customer is willing to negotiate and end up making a win-win offer for both the merchant and customer.
