A few years ago, we made the mistake of leasing another brand of car, a terrible mistake. Only a year into that lease, we knew we had to make a change, and went back to Hendrick Honda. There, after talking to Sean McLane and telling him what we needed, he brought Christopher Robinson to us and the miracles continued to pour out. Chris is such a happy, positive person, we knew we were in the right place making the right decision. In a reasonable amount of time, we were happily driving away in a new CRV. This past December, we realized that we needed more auto space, and back we went to Hendrick Honda. After having spoken to Sean McLane again, Chris was ready for us, and with that same positive and professional attitude, told us we were in shape to make a change. We purchased a 2017 Honda Pilot. Chris did everything but wash and detail the new car! He made us feel like we are part of the Hendrick family, and assured us that he would be available to us to answer any questions and to assist with concerns we might have. More importantly, he is respectful, honest and so full of joy that he feels like family to us. There won't be a need to find another dealership for our needs, and certainly no other sales person! Superior Experience/ Forgot I was buying a car Where do I even begin! From the start (I guess) is the best! I recently relocated to NC from NJ and my husband was in training. His car broke down and he brought it to Hendrick Honda of Charlotte. They serviced it and fixed the immediate issue and advised he had a bigger issue that he was going to have to get done ASAP. They didn't try and over service and provide unnecessary items / maintenance to get done. They were honest and direct. About 2 weeks later the car died in the middle of Charlotte. My husband had the car towed to his hotel and we did not have the money to fix the issue that would need to be fixed. I felt horrible for my hubby. Relocating, in training, used majority of all the available cash we had. Me working in sales I did not want to go into a car dealership and meet a salesman and get their speech and go back and forth for hours. I said a prayer and said Lord you know our situation and you know what we need. Please guide us to the right people and touch their hearts. Well I called and I asked to speak with the Sales Manager. I was given Mr. Shawn M. I had advised him we were there got serviced received honest advice on our cars issues and unfortunately the car broke down, we don't have the money, our credit is not the best and we have no real money to put down! Immediately his first concern was our well being. Asked if we were ok, if we were safe and immediately needed anything. Once I confirmed we were ok he asked if we had a way to get to the dealership. I said yes but I didn't want to come and sit for hours and be given a sales person that wants to make a great commission. He said you don't have to worry about that You said you have no money, you have bad credit and you are in a tough position. I will make sure your taken care of when you get here just ask for me. Immediately we rushed to the dealership. My hubby was not sold that they could help us and ultimately very upset with the entire negative situation we were in. We asked for Mr Shawn and without hesitation he was before our eyes. He embraced us as family. No hand shakes hugs and walked us to a desk asked if we ate, were we thirsty, need anything. He asked a few questions and we were overly honest and he simply said WE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU! The hard part is over. He said I'm giving you one of my sales men to assist with showing you a car. Now the car he will show you is band new with a warranty, it may not be your first choice but if you like we will work it out. He introduced us to Mr Chris R. While walking with Chris to go see the car it was a second confirmation that God not only heard our prayer but was answering it as well. In general convo explaining the situation he explained our situation and what we were faced with. He stopped us and said listen your car is paid for. You both along with your son were not hurt. It may be a financial burden right now but this is a blessing. We will take care of you. Again we said how we have no money and our credit. He said well no one can stop Gods blessings so let's look at the car and see if you like it and then we will figure out colors etc but let's look at the car. We seen it, it was a very nice brand new car that we knew would work for us. Still concerned if we could get it we didn't get to excited! Chris asked my hubby what color did he want my hubby said let's get approved first and then I will pick. Chris said man pick a color God is working this out. Have faith and know that the car is approved! My hubby picked a black car and we came back in Shawn came over as Chris was getting the paperwork together. They asked for our license and Shawn said give me a few minutes. While Shawn was away trying to perform a miracle Chris kept us encouraged and informed us that Hendrick honda cares about their customers. He expressed that he was aware how people seem to think all salesmen and dealerships are the same but it's not true. He stressed the importance of staying positive and keeping faith. Even gave us a scripture to remind us of Gods promises. Not long at all Shawn came back over and said ok here's the contract. This is the best I can do and again the civic may not be your first pick but it's a great car and if you decide to take this car we will buy the car back from you in one year if you want and get you into a Accord if you choose. We smiled laughed a little and he said I'm serious just pay on time and don't miss a payment. Again we smiled and laughed. Shawn showed us our monthly rate and we said well how much do we have to put down he said nothing and we pushed your payment out for 45 days to help you out to recoupe a little after the extra expenses of 2 tow truck bills and the service we had done on top of relocating to NC. Chris looked at us as we were in disbelief with a smile on his face. We knew nothing was still concrete until we were in with finance and signed all the documents. We were then walked into Mr Tony H office and his office was like his little man cave! The vibes in his office were soft music playing, comforting aroma as well as top to bottom Giants memorabilia letting everyone know who his favorite NFL team was. Being from NJ we could appreciate it although we're not Giants fans (LOL). He looked at the paper work, our credit and said well folks all we have to do is look at a couple of questions (additional warranty/ misc add ons) and then sign. Looks like this is approved NO MOMEY DOWN AT THIS PAYMENT A MONTH..... Tony was the funniest, most down to earth honest man! We signed all of our paperwork and all three men walked us to our brand new car that was waiting for us right out front. We were in such disbelief on so many levels. From the honesty to making sure we got approved to just being true profession salesmen but more importantly good people. We had moved to Raleigh shortly after and any and every time we are in Charlotte we always stopped by. As we talked they would have the car washed while they offered us BBQ that they would serve to their employees and customers for the day. It was truly a great relationship that had been formed. Exactly a year later we came in to visit since we were in Charlotte. They had the new Accord and my husband made a joke to Shawn and Chris saying hey I'm here for my Accord it's been a year. Without any thought Shawn came back and said give Chris your keys so he can get the civic looked at while we were sitting we seen Tony and we laughed a bit and he said let me guess your here for the Accord! We really were amazed that they remembered. Us thinking it was just a joke, a conversation piece but it was once again them being honest. Needless to say They did it again! Made a new car happen while keeping their word and providing excellent service! We truly are grateful and have found a group of men that we now look at as family. We have since sent any and everyone we know to them. (Not everyone we sent appreciated their kind service and probly gave more of a headache to them then anyone they have ever encountered) but they stayed and remained professional, kind and helpful during everyone's time of need. I know there are fancier cars and so many dealerships but if you want good service, honesty and people you can call anytime with a question or concern Hendrick honda is where I suggest and Shawn, Chris and Tony are who me and my family will forever suggest! Greatly appreciate these men and I pray God rewards all 3 of them greatly for blessing us during our major time in need! More
