My husband and I had a great experience with Chris Pugh at Kia of Cary. We were looking for a very specific Sportage model and it was available at this dealership. Chris was very easy to work with and we were able to provide most information via email as we live about 90 miles away. When we arrived to finalize the paperwork, everything went very smoothly. Chris showed me all the features of the car and many times told me not to hesitate to call him with any questions. I did have a question afterwards and he was extremely attentive in getting me an answer. At all time, Chris was knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. More
On August 24, 2022 I took my Kia in for a scheduled oil change. I mentioned that I had had recently had a flat tire and after it was fixed my car had a vibration at high speeds and I thought I needed a new change. I mentioned that I had had recently had a flat tire and after it was fixed my car had a vibration at high speeds and I thought I needed a new tire. They suggested that I most likely needed to have my tires balanced. Two hours later I was on my way, only to realize within a few miles that the vibration was now a full wobble. I immediately turned around and went back to the shop. Two more hours and I was told that my car had "thrown a weight" and they had redone the tire balancing and my car was ready to go. Again, it quickly became obvious that the problem was still not resolved. I grabbed some lunch before heading back, as I had now spent 4 hours at the dealership. This time when I went back they balanced my tires on the machine at the dealership across the street, in case the machine was the issue. When that didn't solve the issue they told me it was a suspension problem or bent tire arm and I would need to come in another day to have that checked. Luckily, the tech decided to pull tires off another Kia and test drive my car with a new set of tires. The problem disappeared, eliminating the suspicion of a suspension or tire arm problem. I was then told that I need a complete set of new tires as mine were worn out. I explained that I had purchased new 70,000 mile tires from them almost a year ago to the day. They seemed surprised to hear this, and then suggested that my alignment was off and the tires were prematurely worn. At this point I had been at the dealership for 9 hours, had to take the day of work, had been repeatedly given the run around, and the original problem had been made worse. I was told they would refund the cost of the tire balancing as this service was not the problem as they had thought. An appointment was made to come back in two weeks. My husband took the car in today for the follow up appointment and was told the problem was the tire with the flat repair from months ago. Just one tire needs to be replaced as the others are not worn, although they tried to sell him 3 unneeded tires so they "matched". My husband declined, asked them to remove my car from the rack, and is currently getting the 1 tire from another shop. He also reminded them they failed to refund the original charges for the tire balancing. I will not be using the Kia Hendricks for any future car repairs, nor would I recommend them. In addition to an utter lack of competence, they wasted an entire day of my time without apology, disregarded what I had to say about my experience with the vehicle, tried to sell me unnecessary services and parts, forgot to process my refund, and did not exhibit integrity during our interactions. You would be better off finding another shop for your car repairs. More

I asked the new sales person (Chris who was extremely helpful) why and he said because it is his last day the next day. Day 2 - I received a call from another sales person (Ivy who was helpful) to inform me that the vehicle I inquired about is on the lot and I can come look at it. I took the time out of my day to go and look/test drive the vehicle. After doing so it was time to go over the numbers. Negotiation is second nature when buying a vehicle. After three no’s, the sales manager Mitch decided to walk in. His attitude was super rude and he kept saying “she told you the price before you came in”. However I never agreed to any price, I simply said I will come look at the vehicle. When I decided to walk out, he proceeds to tell me that he is “sorry that I lost their (Kia’s) business”. To my knowledge, the dealership is supposed to get the customers business and not the other way around. I proceeded to explain to him that I just bought a brand new 2022 vehicle and wanted to get another one with Kia. He said “yea, a Ford” and started to chuckle. Never in my life have I met a salesman who was so condescending. I understand not wanting to negotiate. But to have someone who is a MANAGER become rude and snarky simply because I did want to negotiate was extremely disrespectful . I’ve never had such treatment from a dealership. More
Extremely dissatisfied with Kia in general and Hendrick Kia of Cary. I say beware and shop around and don't expect the vehicle to last, nor expect the golden level of service that Hendrick Kia of Cary use Kia of Cary. I say beware and shop around and don't expect the vehicle to last, nor expect the golden level of service that Hendrick Kia of Cary use to be known for. I own both a 2013 Sorento and 2015 Cadenza with only 44,000 miles. The Sorento has never experienced the issues that the Cadenza has had. From shoddy paint work because of primer issues noted on various posts and such to front and rear windshield and seal failures. The front windshield was recalled for such issues, but the rear was not. In addition, no recall yet on paint and lock issues with the trunk. Kia is basically worthless and will never get our families business again. The vehicles look nice, however, they have had issues for the last 5-7 years with motors and other things that they don't want to take accountability for. As far as the service department, it is hyper masculine and feels a bit gender bias. Today, John told me that "the lack of exterior detailing and maintenance" is what caused the trunk paint to fail, along with the seals around the rear windshield. Totally off basis and inappropriate. The 2015 Kia Cadenza with 44,000 miles is maintained the same way as the 2013 Kia Sorento with over 100,000 miles which has had 0 paint failure because it was appropriately primed when painted and the front and rear windshield have never had seal or leaking issues which needed to be recalled. It is not the owner, it is the shoddy manufacturer that cuts corners and lacks the accountability for making above standard vehicles. John the manager tried to circumvent the issues in dissatisfaction, but as I stated a bit hyper masculine and not gender friendly. Two Johns in this department by the way. Also, don't expect quick oil changes because it take 3 hours for an oil change, tire rotation, and safety inspection. It use to be about 1.5 hours at most long ago and if you want an appointment nowadays, it could be an estimated 4-6 weeks. More
