We spent several weeks searching for a used/new vehicle at various car dealers. Our first visit to Toyota Scion of North Charleston was pleasant. Candi approached us and was very helpful. I would like to thank Robbie Cortis along with Bobby and his help in the Service Department for the outstanding job and service that the provided me. My mother had just passed and I had to drive to Massa his help in the Service Department for the outstanding job and service that the provided me. My mother had just passed and I had to drive to Massachusetts for her funeral I brought my 2002 Toyota Solar in because my lights had been flashing on the inside of the dashboard. At first I thought that I would have to buy a new alternator once the alternator was put on it was determine that I didn't need it after all it was an electrical problem. Robbie and Bobby work very diligently to find the electrical problem. They went the extra mile to locate the problem, Robbie and Bobbie kept keeping me informed about the situation Robbie kept offering me a loaner car and Bobby a ride home because they didn't know how long it would take. I was told once they found the electrical problem that I did not need a new alternator the one I had own there was good. I immediately felt as though I could trust them for selling me a me a new alternator but didn't for this I thank both of them along with Hendrick of Toyota. As I was looking over the lot, an salesman kept following me around ; And wouldn’t let me just look. He was very concern and helpful in trying to help find one that I wanted. Derrick Smith was very friendly and did a fine job in his sale actions. I appreciate the deal He worked out for me , the price, 0 interest, 2yr free maint, life warranty I got a 2013 Corolla, cherry RED which is my favorite color, but wife doesn’t like the color. She said it fit her like a glove though. I had it for about a week and a half. After I drove it to Columbia, SC, I realize it is too small for what I am use to: I don't have enough leg room for my long legs with the console, got my legs hurting; it doesn‘t have a cruise control for long distance driving. I told my wife we will have to do something different or she would have to do all the driving . Contacted Mr. Whatley on July 24 and He told me to come in and see what we could do. Derrick met me at the door when I arrive and He worked things out and put me in a 2011 Camry which has plenty leg room. I was in the market to purchase a Toyota Tacoma and a BMW for my wife. We had three vehicles that we were going to trade in and purchase two used vehicles from Rick Hendrick Toyota because they had a BMW m for my wife. We had three vehicles that we were going to trade in and purchase two used vehicles from Rick Hendrick Toyota because they had a BMW my wife wanted and Tacoma that I wanted. I had been in contact with the dealership internet sales department for over two weeks. My wife were not able to go to North Charleston because of our busy work schedules. I found Tacoma on their website that was perfect for my needs and called Ashley Hamilton and told her that I would be coming to North Charleston to purchase that vehicle. I had been approved for financing through my bank and all I need to do was trade in my two vehicles for the Tacoma. I was promised that he Tacoma would be there and that "she was pulling the keys to the truck" so it would be there when I arrived. I was driving from Ylee, Florida after conducting business there and I told her what time I would arrive. When I arrived I was told the Tacoma was on a "test drive". I told them that I would wait because that I wanted that truck. I waited a few minutes only to be told that it was sold to a telephone buyer from Atlanta GA who had put a deposit on the truck. To make it up to me. they were going to give me a really good deal on a new Tacoma. This did not happen. No good deal on a Tacoma was offered. The bottom line to all of this is that the dealership sales team lied to me and instead of calling me the way and letting me know that the vehicle had been sold (thus preventing me from driving 80 miles out of my way) they lied about making it up by selling me vehicle at a quote "good deal" I would be very cautious of doing with this dealership because they flat out lied to me, cost me time and money by getting me to come there for a vehicle that I believe now did not exist, and then did not follow up on their promise to make it up to me. He understood that money was a primary concern and never tried to upsell us on anything—in fact, he kept asking me several times if I was sure I wanted the upgraded trim package. Overall, Shulton and the team at Hendrick Toyota Scion North Charleston did a great job of helping us not into one, but TWO new vehicles. Their patience with my endless questions made this a stress-free transaction. Shulton followed up with us after the sale, made sure we understood all the features of our new cars and expressed his appreciation of our business. Bottom line--we feel extremely good about our purchases and have no worries that we 'over bought'. I highly recommend Shulton and the rest of the Hendrick team at Toyota/Scion--the Hendrick dealership group and Toyota/Scion should be extremely proud of the way this team represents their brands. More
