This was a third strike Sean- the time for discussion with the Herb Chambers BMW service department has passed. The car had a preexisting issue with the fuel system. I couldn't put gas in it. It was "fixed" to the tune of about $1000, but when I got it back the fuel system was still malfunctioning in the exact same way. I was told by your service department that I was not putting gas into the car correctly and asked to drive to a gas station with a mechanic to demonstrate how I gas up the car. Ridiculous. Thankfully someone else tried to gas it up with the fuel pump you have right on site and confirmed that I was not the problem before I had to do that. With this current issue I was lied to. I told a manager what the issue was because my husband had already diagnosed it as it's a well-documented BMW service issue with my car's model number. I also told this manager that if it was not under warranty, we would fix it ourselves. I was told that the only way to determine if my car was part of this well-known service issue was for me to bring it in so they could see if my VIN number was included. Once I got there, I was told that the VIN number was in your computer all along, but the car could not be looked at for less than a $199 diagnostic fee. And that the repair would probably not be covered by any warranty. I left pretty upset, and no one seemed to care. I guess this is just the way Herb Chambers thinks they can treat customers once they have purchased their cars. I can tell you that this will probably not be my last BMW..... but it will DEFINITELY be my last Herb Chambers BMW.
