Waste of time. I contacted Herzog-Meier and scheduled an appointment with them to buy a car and inquired with them asking if they would take both a motorcycle and a I contacted Herzog-Meier and scheduled an appointment with them to buy a car and inquired with them asking if they would take both a motorcycle and a car as trade. Over the phone they claimed they would accept both. I went into Herzog-Meier on my only day off at the scheduled time, our sales rep Schmuel (who was a great guy and this review is nothing against him personally) told me that he would bring the car out so I could test drive it. I immediately knew the car was the right one for me. Upon negotiation I was informed that they wouldn't accept a motorcycle as a trade and was low balled on my car trade in. Not only that but they tried to get me to agree to a ridiculous down payment and interest rate right away through chase. I had contacted chase that night and was approved for the loan with 0 down and less than half the interest rate. This only through more red flags, why would they try to squeeze so much extra interest out of me? I then went to Mazda of Gladstone the next day. My experience there was great, they attempted to get the car that I had driven at Herzog-Meier the day before on a dealer trade and Herzog-Meier lied claiming the car was pre-sold 2 weeks prior. This was false because we could have bought it less then 24 hours before. Mazda of Gladstone quickly located the same car that had just arrived at the port and we made a deal with my desired interest rate and down payment along with accepting both trades at a very fair price. I will never shop at Herzog-Meier again, they wasted 4 hours of my time on my only day off. More

First Time, Great Experience I had never leased a car before and this was a brand new one. I researched online the car I wanted and where I wanted to buy it. Everyone was very nice and helpful. My salesman was Shmuel. There was no pressure and it was fun. I also got a sweet deal by switching to Allstate, which was available at Herzog-Meier. Shmuel even called me to see how i was doing with my new car and if I had any questions. As with the sale, he was very kind. As I was waiting for my credit check, one of the guys brought out some desserts from Scotland. Awesome job everyone. More

Today I had my car serviced at the dealership service department and what a surprise I had when they presented me with a bill for $128.09 !!! - for changing the oil and rotating the tires - this is excessive, so I will take my Mazda to my friendly Jiffy Lube for future good service, and Herzog Meier have lost my business as a result of being GREEDY !! - Warning to other Mazda owners. When I showed the documentation from emails with Stephanie, I was told by her manager that she made a careless mistake and didn't check to see that the discount was already applied. I was pretty upset because not only did it feel like a bait and switch but all I got was an apology after running my credit report. I ended up going to Royal Mazda where they gave me a lower price and a warrantee. Unfortunately carelessness will not win over my business. More

Guess They Didn't Want My Business After test driving a new Golf with 2 different salesmen on 2 different dates, and putting a deposit on the car I wanted ordered, I waited 2 months and After test driving a new Golf with 2 different salesmen on 2 different dates, and putting a deposit on the car I wanted ordered, I waited 2 months and wrote a letter of complaint before buying at another VW dealer in Portland. Why? No follow-up from either salesperson; no updates on when the car I ordered might arrive; a botched call-back from a "sales manager" who received my complaint letter and left me a voicemail to call him (I did, but that's the last I heard from him). I was also told by salespeople they're 'not authorized' to make commitments that would earn my business back. The final straw was when I returned late on a Sunday to get my deposit refunded and was told "the machine is backed up", so I should call them the following morning to see if the credit went through. Way to rub salt in that wound! I've never felt so ignored and unappreciated trying to spend $30,000. They wasted my time. I recommend not wasting yours. More

This dealership sells junk cars! RUN AWAY! I purchased a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 104k miles and paid cash. I too was made to pose in front of the car with an "AS IS" sign in my ha I purchased a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 104k miles and paid cash. I too was made to pose in front of the car with an "AS IS" sign in my hand so they could take a photo. The only redeeming part about the vehicle turned out to be the "fairly new tires". So far in the first month I've had to have the front differential rebuilt, and replaced a defective catalytic converter. I took it back to my local mechanic for a bearing noise in the rear axle, when they opened the differential metal fragments were laying in the case and some of the gears were missing big chunks of metal. So far the grand total for this Jeep xxx is $2500 plus the original purchase price! BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP!! They will sell you crap and not care at all. More

Jeff , the sales man, was willing to drive the Golf to our house in the country because we did not have a car. That is above and beyond the call of duty as far as my husband and I were concerned! The price was right. The service was great. We came away feeling like we had made a very good choice. And not for just today, but for years to come! This is a tried and true business that care about putting their best foot forward at all times! They want us to be happy and we are! And Jeff was wonderful!! More

Irresponsible business practice I would not recommend this company to do business with. I wanted to go through my credit union signed everything then left. 2 weeks later I recieved a bill from a different finance company. I called my credit union and they had no loan for me. I then called the dealership and had the finance man apologize because he made a mistake. He said I could then go through my credit union if I wanted. Are you kidding me? I said that's fine and stuck with the company the dealership went through because I didn't want to fuss with it. I verified through financing when my payment was due which was at the end of the month I explained to them the original agreement through a third party company which allowed me to lower my interest and they explained that I send my payment directly to them not the third party company. Go to my savings account and the dealership had let the third party company withdraw hundreds of dollars from my account. So I paid my car payment and the third party company took money for the car payment as well. This was two days before Christmas. I called the dealership and all I got was sorry that happened. I called the third party company and they said they will return the money. To me I was an easy customer no fuss no haggling secured my own financing so to drop the ball so many different times and all that I get is a sorry that happened. Unacceptable More
