Contrary to manufacturer recommendations, I was told by the service advisor that my vehicle required maintenance based on mileage. When I read in my owners manual, it contradicts 20-30k brake fluid flush. More

We apologize for any confusion regarding the brake fluid maintenance for your 2023 Honda Odyssey. Considering San Antonio, Texas, experiences significantly more humidity than other parts of the United States, especially during the summer, we advise changing the brake fluid between 20,000 to 30,000 miles. This region-specific recommendation is a proactive measure against the hygroscopic nature of brake fluid, which absorbs moisture from the air. High-moisture environments like San Antonio can cause a lower boiling point and corrosion in the braking system, potentially resulting in a spongy brake feel and reduced braking effectiveness. While Honda's general recommendation is every 2-3 years or every 30,000-45,000 miles, our tailored advice for your area aims to maintain your vehicle's highest safety and performance standards. We appreciate your understanding and are committed to providing accurate, region-specific service recommendations.

I will respond the way I responded to your service advisors, can you provide me a source document from Honda or DuPont saying that this is required more frequently in ‘high moisture environments’. Because again, I do not see that in my owners manual either. And it seems to me that this should be a PM based on moisture levels and not mileage if such a thing exist. Because I’m certain you know that the moisture content is based on the percentage of water in the brake line, which is something that is easily measured with the correct tool. Which ironically I own and tested my vehicle at <1%. And I tested the accuracy of the tool myself, prior to use. Which can be I more than willing to preform at your service station, if you have 10 mins to spare.
