Avoid bait and switch at Honda City Chicago, 4950 S. Pulaski. They offered to beat any offer by up to $500. I confirmed by email and phone with Thomas and Lourariel pricing and that the new car I was purchasing was being cleaned and prepared for me to pick up. I even completed my financing application online before driving to the dealership. When I arrived, they told me they did not have the car I was buying on the lot (or any cars of that model and year). They tried to sell me a more expensive car or convince me to buy their "demo" vehicle. Multiple people at this dealership outright lied in order to get me into the dealership and then offer a different (worse) deal. More
I had my vehicle towed in on Saturday. I told the advisor the car has no power in drive, I have a transmission light and an emissions light on, and also a transmission leak. They told me the cause of my issu the car has no power in drive, I have a transmission light and an emissions light on, and also a transmission leak. They told me the cause of my issue is a transmission pressure sensor and fill plug and to install a new one it’s gonna be 879 dollars. So I had them install the sensor. I get a text saying to call them as soon as I can. I call them, what they say is the tech installed the sensor and it still doesn’t have power in drive and now it needs a new transmission unit and it’s gonna cost 7000. I called the service manager and he tells me that it’s part of a process of elimination and that’s the first step. No one told me that. I was told that’s the pressure sensor is the issue. He lowered the first to 709 insisting they told me it’s a process and that’s the first step. 709 to tell me the sensor is not the issue and it’s need a 7000 transmission. I had my vehicle towed out and the whole process they acted like my vehicle wasn’t in the lot. I paid and they didn’t give me my car keys and they drove my car to the alley and had the tow truck driver go to a different lot to get the car. They made the whole process a mess. I’m never coming here again, I’m telling everyone about my experience here and telling them to stay away More
Worst experience ever, Their salesman, Mike is one of the worst, talks all bs, just to get you in, and leave you alone. My experience shopping for a used car at Honda City wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't great. I made an inquiry and an appointment online. When I entered the used car dealership (which is across the s wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't great. I made an inquiry and an appointment online. When I entered the used car dealership (which is across the street from the new car showroom), I was helped by someone whose name I never learned. He took a while looking up the car I was there to test drive and it seemed like nobody was expecting me even though I had made an appointment and gotten multiple follow-up emails about it, including one less than an hour before my appointment time. He eventually found the car and pulled it out for me, and I was able to inspect the car and go for a test drive, which all went smoothly. I actually liked the car a lot, but I had been to another dealership earlier in the day with far superior customer service. I liked both cars equally but ended up going with the other one primarily because I didn't feel like Honda City really cared about my experience as a customer or even really about making a sale. I can't help but wonder if the experience of shopping for a new car at Honda City is significantly more positive. Overall, I wouldn't recommend against going here, but just know going in not to expect a lot of enthusiasm from the salespeople. On the plus side, that also means they weren't pushy and were happy to let me walk out the door. More
VERY VERY SHADY DEALERSHIP TO DO BUSINESS WITH. I AM WARNING ANYONE WHO HAS BOUGHT A CAR OR LOOKING TO PURCHASE ONE FROM HERE AS DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR "SMOOTH" PROCESS. I bought a honda civic which I fo WARNING ANYONE WHO HAS BOUGHT A CAR OR LOOKING TO PURCHASE ONE FROM HERE AS DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR "SMOOTH" PROCESS. I bought a honda civic which I found out that the selling price was $2000 higher than the moroney sticker that was not in the vehicle after we left. A year and a half later, we saw that they took complete advantage of us and added warranties that cost over $4500 of bs that is already covered by the manufacturer for 3 years on bumper to bumper problems. We have gone here 5 different times and each time they refuse to cancel the OPTIONAL WARRANTIES THAT CAN BE CANCELLED AT ANY TIME. We are talking with the attorney general office of illinois as this is how pathetic this dealership is as we already bought a different car and had the odometer statement and they still refused which we know is illegal and we will do everything we can to let the internet know about this unbelievable practice this store does. Bait and Switch! I received a quote on the internet with a follow up phone call. The Internet Sales Manaager (Tom) provided a competitive price that was a couple of hundred dollars higher than another price a follow up phone call. The Internet Sales Manaager (Tom) provided a competitive price that was a couple of hundred dollars higher than another price I received. He said they would beat any competitive quote by up to $500 abt that we would finalize it when I came in. I arrived the next day and despite the discussion we had the car was not on the lot. It took almost an hour for them to bring the car over. When we sat down to do the paperwork the pricing miraculously changed. They did not even honor the price they quoted let alone meet the competition! This was after the sales rep (Kendell) went to talk to the manager (Dave). The difference was almost 5% higher. AVOID THIS DEALER AT ALL COST!!! More
