After two false starts at other dealerships in the region, we were prepared for another less-than-satisfying experience. Thankfully, the opposite happened. We connected with our sales representative (James Watson) and appreciated his knowledge of the vehicle (CR-V Touring). When it came time to settle on a total cost, Mike Mahan took over and worked with us to arrive at a fair price. There was no back-and-forth, sit-and-wait, "let-me-talk-to-my-sales-manager" type of experience. We trusted Mike and he came through for us. Next, it was time to meet with the finance representative (Chris Ijames), and the good experience continued. He patiently explained our options and did not pressure us to choose one. We would also like to give a shout-out to Austin Miller, who spent over an hour with us explaining how all the bells and whistles worked when we picked up the car. Perhaps the only bump in the entire experience was the delivery of the vehicle (which had to be located and retrieved from another dealership). There were a couple of add-ons missing when we arrived to pick up the vehicle. The service manager recognized this immediately, and we agreed to wait a couple more days to take delivery until the dealership had time to install them. Everything turned out fine, but someone should have paid more attention to details AFTER the sale. Joy Spencer, the internet sales manager, went out of her way, in an exhaustive search for a new car for me! This, for a car brand that they don't even sell. I needed to trade-in an expensive car for an inexpensive one and after I was just a bit too late for a local car she had found for me at a sister dealership (sold without her knowledge, just hours before I arrived), so she went through an extremely thourough search for an identical car, via all of Hendrick's massive nationwide dealership network, as well as searching their own HoC inventory for a similar car, but of a different brand. A car of the brand, model and year (2015) that I initially went there to buy, was eventually located in Charleston, SC, however it was a certified, only slightly used version with just 3,500 miles on it (not a problem). Only the color was any different. I only dealt with another salesperson for about a half-hour there, Quentin Williams, to wrap things up, but he was also very, very helpful and was knowledgeable about sporty cars, as well. Also, I'd like to mention that Ted Johnson, the finance closer, was also great to work with. The Charleston car arrived in Concord the very next day, so the location distance became almost a complete non-factor. Once again, I would highly recommend Honda of Concord for your next new or used car buying experience. More
