Was told I had to finance the auto to get the best deal. Higher rate and I have excellent credit. Was not happy about that but they lied. I should have walked because they said it had a three month pre-p Higher rate and I have excellent credit. Was not happy about that but they lied. I should have walked because they said it had a three month pre-payment penalty. Called American Honda Finance and they said it DID NOT have a prepayment penalty. They told me dealers say that so they can get a credit if financed at least three months. What a lie, I was ready to pay loan off and it cost me money even to pay if off before the first payment. They should not tell people that there is a prepayment penalty when there is not. Shady and dishonest. Loan paid off after I spoke with Honda Finance. Salesman was good, finance department not honest. I love Honda and hate that they tell you things not true. More
We were not comfortable with the way the deal closed, it seemed that the communications were not clear regarding how much the final costs would be. Our salesman was very polite and professional, but were unable to negotiate a price on the vehicle we came to look at. We didn't know anything about the car we ended up purchasing, but some of our questions were answered incorrectly. We asked if it was a 4-cylinder, and he said "yes." It is not, it's a 3-cylinder. We asked if the back seats could lay down for storage (I've always had an SUV), and he said "yes." It does not. We asked if it's a good car, as we know nothing about Mitsubishi, but the car ratings are very low, which is our own fault for not researching. Next time I would do my homework and not rely on the knowledge of the dealership. More
Your company policy of NOT negotiating the price was very disappointing. Also, adding a large dealer fee was a rip off...and the completely unwanted protection package complete with another LARGE fee was mo disappointing.
