Also, I believe the reason for the wait was that I made the appointment the day before due to the vehicle hard starting and Kent had to work me in. So I feel the wait was my fault not the dealerships. More

Fear tactics and deceptive selling Brought our Honda in for requested service. Received a call reporting my brakes only had 3mm left. I said thanks I'll consider it, then was told it would be down to 2mm in 1000 miles and it would be a safety concern. Then when I picked it up I was told that the brakes were metal on metal and unsafe and was told to "sign here" sternly. I guess the last 3mm must have worn off as it sat in the service department? Oddly the brakes were 6 mm when new, and have not worn at a rate of 1mm per thousand miles (considering I've had them WELL over 6000 miles) nor would they be "unsafe" at 2mm. In fact they will pass MVI at considerably less than 2mm. I probably should also mention that upper management should be reviewing sales tactics because the opening began with telling me I need a power steering flush, brake fluid flush, and brakes. Then without taking a breath (phone conversation) the salesman suggested the brakes as the fluids were not important. Really? Why mention them then? Is it because you are supposed to push them but have no confidence in the sale so you immediately back off and try for the lesser sale? Result, you shot yourself in the foot and decimated your own integrity by suggesting a repair, then stating it's not important...shouldn't that be MY decision to make? I am very impressed (in a bad way). More
