I made an appointment for 10:45am to get my oil changed. I arrived at that time and stood beside my car waiting to be checked in. An employee told me they would be right with me as they passed by helping so I arrived at that time and stood beside my car waiting to be checked in. An employee told me they would be right with me as they passed by helping someone else. Then I stood there for 20 minutes while others that arrived later were checked in before me. I was asked to move my car over to the check in line beside the one I was in to move it to the front of that line. As I waited for another 10 minutes they took my car back without asking me what I wanted done or so I thought. Actually they just moved my car to the back of the line. At this point I went inside to talk to the service manager. The first person I came upon was the manager. When I explained what had happened and how I have had service issues here before, he became aggravated. My guess is because he was the one that passed me by several times. We went out to check my car in. Before he even asked me my name to check me in, he said, "Are we going to be able to make you happy today?" I said, "At this point, no." He then refused to service my vehicle. His whole demeanor and tone was aggressive. I said I drove here and waited all this time, I want my car serviced. He aggressively said over and over, "only if we can make you happy." I felt like a hostage at this point, either waste my whole day driving to another Honda dealership or let them service my car. I told him to change the oil I would be waiting inside. He did not check my car in and just went back to helping other customers. I stood at the service desk and attempted to call the dealership directly. I wanted to speak to the actual manager. There is none. They only have a sales manager and a service manager. The service manager, whom I have been dealing with then finally came back to me to try to check my car again. He told me he would help me if I would stop making a scene. I had never once raised my voice or made an aggressive gestures. He was projecting his behaviors onto me. Some people cannot handle criticism but they should not be the ones handling your customer service. Since I felt like I had little choice at this point, I agreed to go back out to check my car in. I just wanted to be done with this establishment. This is when he decided to take one more passive-aggressive dig at me when he sarcastically said, "Is the oil change all you want done, I want to be sure since I missed you the first time?" I said, "I want you to do the normal process where you change the oil and then notify me what may need to be done after inspection." He again blew up saying he refused to service my vehicle. I went back inside demanding to talk to someone else. I have never been treated so poorly by someone for simply pointing out where they failed at service. He took me to the sales manager, still not the person above him. The sales manager listened patiently and assured me everything would be taken care of correctly. I told him the other issues I've had here with rude service reps and that they always leave the inner part of the glovebox unlatched after checking the in cabin air filter. He again assured me he would address these issues with the proper people. This was too little too late for me to continue using them to service my Honda. I am on my 3rd new Honda, 2 Fits now an Accord. I lived in Alabama until the past two years and have always had great service there, no matter which Honda dealership. They were always friendly, and I never had service issues. Absolutely one of the reasons I have stuck with Honda. There has never been a visit to San Marcos Honda where there was not an issue. The service reps are often rude, it takes 3 hours to get an oil change no matter the time of day even with an appointment, and then you have issues with the service itself. I was already on the fence about taking my car to Austin to have it serviced instead of San Marcos. I will not be returning here for sure now. NOTE: I was writing this as they serviced my car. They just called to notify me it is done and tell me the total. They did not apologize again, nor did they offer me any discount for the time wasted and how I was treated. More

this place sucks as far as taking care of their buyers! we had a problem with our 2017 Honda Civic EX condenser after 6 months of owning it. the condenser was beat up pretty bad! this was not caused by us. we had a problem with our 2017 Honda Civic EX condenser after 6 months of owning it. the condenser was beat up pretty bad! this was not caused by us. my wife drives this car (she drives very conservatively). we had to have it replaced & were told by San Marcos & Gunn Honda the warranty covered it. after they had the car for an hour (Gunn), the snakes told us it wasn't covered by the warranty! Tony there even told my wife it's hard to damage the condenser to that degree in 6 months. my wife needs it for work. it's 100º outside, so, we reluctantly let them put a new one in. the cost was ridiculous ($870). I priced it on the open market & discovered we were charged about twice what it should have cost us. Honda of San Marcos refused to help us in any way! Larry R. wouldn't even return our emails! apparently, Honda Civics & Accords (2015-2019) are prone to this problem. there are lawsuits against Honda because of this. they don't seem to care much! neither does Honda of San Marcos. needless to say, we'll never buy another vehicle from them, or Gunn Honda! I bought it as is with a promise that if anything major went wrong in a short period I got burned. I recently purchased a 2014 Pilot with 83k on it. I bought it as is with a promise that if anything major went wrong in a short period of time they would cover the labor and I would supply the parts. Well two weeks and less that 2000 miles later the hydraulic tensioner for the timing belt failed rendering the car unsafe to drive as it has an interference engine and a loose timing belt can cause major engine damage. I called and left messages for the salesman to call back and he never did. I had to call 5 times to get a response. I texted back and forth with the salesman several times and often he wouldn't respond for days if at all. His voicemail was full and I couldn't leave messages. When he finally started communicating with me the responses were slow and worthless. The origional offer of labor was recended. I asked for them to sell me the parts at cost and they agreed. The price they gave me for the parts required to make the repair was more than double what I could purchase them for at other honda dealerships. I just ordered the parts from Honda Parts Now for less than half the price they quoted so I can get this thing back on the road. They should have made it right but did not. I will not be going back and will let everyone I know to stay away as they blatantly lied to me to make a sale then gave me the run around for 3+ weeks when I did have a problem. More

Austin and others in the Service Department quickly got the vehicle in for diagnosis. Once the parts were in stock, the repairs were made quickly and professionally. Being a vehicle purchased in Canada, there could have been issues processing the warranty work - not here! A big thanks to all that helped get us back to enjoying our time in Texas. More

We were kept there for hours while the managers were deciding if they were going to honor OUR price with a trade-in. We got hungry and told them we were going to go have lunch and they could let us know when they have made a decision. Well, never heard from them. My wife text the salesperson back and was told he was busy but would get back in a few minutes. Never text back. She text him back hours later and told him to just forget it. He text back saying to let him know if there is anything else he can do for us...Really? They did'nt even have the courtesy to tell us they could not meet our price. Wasted our whole day messing with them. Went to another dealership and got a better deal! More
