I had this review up earlier but was asked to take it down by the dealership, which I did. After thinking about it for some time I have decided to repost it with an update to let others form their own op down by the dealership, which I did. After thinking about it for some time I have decided to repost it with an update to let others form their own opinion. I had to bring my 2016 Civic, which I bought new at the end of 2015, in for service in 2017 due to oil leaking from the oil pan gasket area, At that time it was under warranty so the repairs were covered. The invoice states that they "resealed" the problem area. Also at that time the car only had about 25,000 miles on it. Last month the same problem reappeared with the oil leaking from around the oil pan. I brought the vehicle back to the service dept. and I was told that the repairs, with an oil change, would total $553.00 as the extended warranty had expired. I tried to explain to the service rep. of the previous problem and that there seemed to be a lingering issue as the car is not yet even 5 years old, especially a honda, should not have issues with oil leaking from the oil pan seal. I also thought that the price was outrageous as the part costs totaled $30.00 and the labor was almost $475.00 but that is besides the point. I had the work completed as I was worried about a more serious problem occurring with oil leaking. I contacted the Honda corporate office but they told me there was nothing they can do since the car is no longer under warranty. I then left a message on the dealer website. The following day I did receive a call from the service manager and after talking with him they did offer me $150.00, and he asked me to remove the review I had posted on this site. At the time I told him I would accept the money and I did remove the review. But as I thought about it overnight I decided that I was not going to accept the money as I feel that I have still been wronged in this situation. I feel the problem should have been addressed at no cost to me as obviously there is a problem with the vehicle for it to have experienced two oil leaks and is not even 5 years old yet. I have been a loyal Honda customer owner since 1998 and I have never had this type of issue with any of the multiple other civics I have owned over that time. I told the service manager I appreciated him reaching out to me and for the offer but I can not accept it. To me it is not an issue of the $150 but there is a bigger picture here. That being said, moving forward, I will be giving my business elsewhere. I am not posting this to hurt the business or anyone in particular but I just feel I need to state my experiences so others can form their own opinions. More
