BEWARE textbook dealership scam. "boiler room" experience. I came in for a 2026 Ram 1500 (Stock # 1R62339) advertised at $38,200. Despite verbal assurances on the phone that the pric "boiler room" experience. I came in for a 2026 Ram 1500 (Stock # 1R62339) advertised at $38,200. Despite verbal assurances on the phone that the price was real, they clearly never intended to honor it. First, they lied about the Stellantis "Preferred Lender Bonus," claiming it only applies if you’ve financed through their specific dealership in the last three years. I expected some games and was prepared to pay the $43,200 price (including rebates), but the math only got worse from there. Despite my perfect credit score, Kyle tried to hide the actual price by sketching arrows and numbers on a scrap of paper and quoting me $880/month on a $30,000 balance. That is essentially 25% interest. When I called him out, he brought back a printout loaded with $15,500 in junk fees: $8k for "paint protection" (they couldn't even keep their story straight on what it was), a $5k warranty, and $2.5k for maintenance. The scam was obvious, they were trying to finance me for $49,000 on a $43,000 truck AFTER I put $15,000 cash down. I made it clear I wanted the truck as-is with no add-ons, which is my right under California law regardless of whether they claim it’s "already installed". but they refused to remove the aftermarket charges. They wouldn't even give me a straight Out-the-Door (OTD) number. One guy said "under 50k," while another manager quoted me $54,000 with a "mandatory" $4,900 alarm and a 6.99% rate. They will treat you like an idiot and cycle through different "managers" to wear you down. Don’t waste your time. They aren't interested in selling vehicles, they just want to bury you in fluff and high interest debt. More
