DON’T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I went in to purchase a used car for $17,500. They added a $3,000 UCI (Used Car Inspection) fee to the price of the car at signing. They lure you into the dealership and then try More

You have a low class of employees that would change the terms of a financial agreement with out discussion with the buyer, you took advantage of 2 senior citizens on disability! Shame on you and NEVER AGAIN!

My boyfriend and I recently decided to purchase a new car and found ourselves drawn to the Hyundai Kona. We made an appointment to take the Kona for a test drive and worked with Yash. He was friendly and not pushy at all which was great. We told him we needed to think it over and shop around and requested that he crunch the numbers and get back to us with a final price. Two days later Yash called us with a final quote I told him if the dealer threw in all weather mats for our car he had himself a deal. Yash informed me that the all weather mats for our vehicle retailed between 300.00 and 400.00 and that normally the dealership doesn’t do that. I told him again he had himself a deal if he could make that happen. (I’ve been hired by a few of my clients to do the leg work in purchasing their new cars. I have worked with Honda, Audi and Toyota and all three have waived the tire lock fee and threw in all weather mats (which have included what you call a trunk liner) so I didn’t think that was asking too much at all. Yash asked his manager Pete and Pete approved our request. The next evening my boyfriend Brett and I got to the dealership to make the deal. When it got time for financing. Apparently there were some issues with computer system and Brett had to go through the whole process 2 times as the gentleman processing seemed to have some difficulty and required help from a coworker. The financing took nearly 2 hours alone, which anywhere else I’ve been has taken no more that 45 minutes to an hour at most. I’m just telling you this because we didn’t complain, we didn’t make a big deal for the wait nor did we lose our patience… we just continued to show kindness and told the finance guy we understood that things happen. Two weeks later Yash let us know that our mats had arrived. I went to pick them up and noticed there was no mat for the trunk (or what you call a trunk liner). I asked the guy at the parts desk if by chance we had another order in the back for us and he said that was it. He was a nice guy. I asked him what the price of the mats were and he told me 140.00 which was much less than the 300.00-400.00 Yash told us they cost so I just assumed Yash forgot to include the liner. I called the dealership the next day (as Yash was off the day I came in) and left a message for him to call me back. 2 days later still no word so I left another message and my boyfriend texted him. No reply… which we found to be strange. So the next day I left a message for the manager and explained the situation, I assumed perhaps Yash was on vacation and that the manager could assist. The same day Yash texted my boyfriend and said he was in fact on vacation and would follow up in a few days once he was back. Well a week and a half later nothing so I called again and asked to speak to the manger and was sent to voicemail yet again so I left another message. 2 more days went by and I called the dealership again,( at this point the lack of follow up outweighed us not receiving our liner we felt that since we already bought the car we didn’t matter anymore) Yash happened to be in and I explained our issue, I did not make a big deal for the lack of communication, the fact I had left multiple messages for him and for the management team, the fact that we didn’t receive our trunk mat, the fact no one ever followed up… again I was understanding and treated him with kindness. Yash told me his manager would be calling us back which he did within minutes. When I explained what I thought we were promised which was all weather mats including one for the trunk The manager Pete (at least that is the name that popped up on my caller ID) said that the all weather mats are different from the trunk liner. I then asked him why Yash said it was a 300-400.00 item and he said very harshly and in a condescending tone that the 140.00 was “his” price which I assume means wholesale and that he didn’t have to give us the mats. I started to lose my patience at this point and said okay, we’ll given the confusion and lack of communication would you be willing to make an exception? He replied no! I’m not going to do that. He literally interrupted me every chance he got telling me he was in the right and I was wrong. I explained to him that customer service goes a long way, and like I mentioned before I’ve been hired by clients to do the leg work in car shopping at which point he said ohhh so you’re the broker! and basically without saying it told me to take a hike. I texted Yash afterwards and told him his manager was rude and wasn’t willing to help and wished him luck… his reply; “oh I didn’t realize you were a broker” I have never in my life been treated so poorly by anyone in the service industry let alone after making a this type of purchase. I’m used to dealerships calling me after my purchase to say thank you, and check in to see how the new car is… My boyfriend Brett immediately went to Hyundai’s website to complain and was directed to contact the dealership manager… well Pete was the problem so Instead we changed our home dealership to another Hyundai location for future service as we don’t feel welcome at Hyundai of Lincolnwood. I’m not sure if this is how Pete runs his business or if he was having a bad day or if he has a problem with us because we’re gay… but at the end of the day it took all the joy out of purchasing our new car. I guess I was just expecting us to be treated with the same kindness and understanding that we treated everyone we interacted with at Hyundai of Lincolnwood.

And 1 week later still no response from Dealer or from Leader Auto Group… are we surprised? Absolutely not. Would we ever return to a Leader Auto Dealer? Absolutely not. Anyone reading this review… stay away from this group and especially Hyundai of Lincolnwood.
