2003 ford escort zx2. My name is KIrk Williams. I bought the car on May 5th. I appreciate your concern Victor. It's more than I got when buying the car and the month after.

Kirk, thank you for the prompt response. I will follow up with Patrick on details of this transaction and get back with you. Thank you for bringing up this issue to my attention. Victor

Indy Auto Man responded

Hello Kirk, I spoke with sales consultant and manager involved it the sale of ZX2 that was listed for $3,995. Up to this day the price of $3995 is the best price in 200 mile radius from us. We do not negotiate prices (same as CARMAX), but if there is something wrong with the vehicle that is not usual wear/tear item or was not disclosed, we would discount vehicle. I see ZX2 was discounted from $3,995 to $3655. Manager sitting behind Pat was with Indy Auto Man since day 1 when it was incorporated on September 14, 2008. In spite of being young and looking even younger he has close to 9 years of experience as he was working for a dealership before joining Indy Auto Man. Your situation is indeed very random. Please let us know how we can rectify it for you. Victor

Thanks for your promptness in dealing with the issue. In the same token I can only convey the way I felt that day and the situation could have been resolved that day with a little tactfulness. There is an issue with the front suspension/ braking system that I knew of the second I took it for a test drive. I haven't had it to shop yet as I've strapped myself a bit financially. In addition to that I realize it's a 12 year old vehicle and expected it to have some bumps and bruises on it but when we got there to look at it, it appeared that it had been in a couple of minor accidents to which I brought to Pat's attention. Also there we're some fairly significant discrepancies in the car fax pertaining to the actual amount of owners which also had me leery. Not to mention I got it home and realized it was due for a darn oil change. No big deal aside from the fact that it takes synthetic oil and that cost me $70.00 right there. Look I realize everybody is out to make money. You would be out of business if you weren't. I felt mistreated when I left there and jerked around thereafter when it comes to the title situation. I don't expect you will do anything about it but people write reviews for how they felt and you wanted to know. Thanks for your time.

Kirk, Our CARFAX reports are offered upfront on our website, we do not hide anything. If there are discrepancies on CARFAX report that you would like me to research, I would be more than happy to submit research request to CARFAX to reconfirm their records. Please let me know what's going on with your suspension/braking system and should you need any parts down the road, please let me know and I will see whether I can get them at discounted prices for you (whenever possible) or arrange a deal with your local mechanic shop. I do apologize for your experience, however, should you need a vehicle in the future, please let me know and I will personally take care of you. Every customer who comes to Indy Auto Man can: - Obtain free CARFAX from our website - Order vehicle walk around and request sales consultant to call with findings - Order vehicle inspection and we will drop of a vehicle at a mechanic of customers choice as long as appointment is pre-paid and mechanic is near the dealership - Should customer be interested in the vehicle, we do accept non-refundable holds - Should an issue arise, we are more than happy to help customers in any way we can Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any further questions or need parts ordered (I will be limited somewhat due to the distance and deals I can get here will not be as good as they are after shipping charges). Best Regards, Victor

I appreciate your concern, but if there was anything that could have been done you would have done it that day. I did ask to speak with the next up in line and was denied that opportunity. The main problem here is that you sold me a car that did not have a clean and clear title. You were still waiting on a signature for the car to be yours, so you could make it mine. So, the drive from Indiana home to Illinois was illegal, as my insurance would not have covered a car I didn't have the title for. Also waiting until the last minute to get it to me, because you didn't fix the problem in a timely manner, I would have had a car in my driveway that I could do nothing with and legally couldn't be there. No it didn't happen, but dealing with such a "good" dealership I shouldn't have to worry about that! I did contact the BBB and the Secretary of State dealer division in all the process, along with an attorney, because I was worried I would have a car and not know what to do with it, That is and was my main concern.

Indy Auto Man responded

Manager behind you was as high as you can ask for. He is on the dealer's license. Let me assure you that your drive from Indiana to Illinois was legal. Your insurance would cover the vehicle in case you registered it prior to the drive from Indiana to Illinois. I see you are also still not satisfied with the price you obtained (even though it was priced cheapest in 200 miles radius) and the quality of the vehicle you got. Would you like us to buy your vehicle back? Best Regards, Victor

kdaddyo responded

After all the aggravation and your dealership put me through over a months time, heck no I'm not selling the car back to you. If you we're genuinely concerned with the transaction you would have done something about it, instead of bantering back and fourth about your stud manager. Your offer to send parts to my mechanic, also a slap in the face. Like they're gonna accept parts from your shop and just charge me the labor to fix it. I'm pretty sure they would want to sell me their own parts. The price I paid for the car is for a car considered in pristine condition. My car if far from it. Maybe your manager should have accepted my offer on the car or simply given my retainer back and I would have walked. Instead I'm going back and fourth because I'm unsatisfied and I'm sure you have preferred a glowing review. Well you people should have handled things more professionally. I'm done here, unless you have anything else to aggravate me with. Good day.

Indy Auto Man responded

Kirk, The vehicle was sold at the price that is unbeatable even today. Car in pristine condition would cost you much more. You bought the vehicle at the price that is the cheapest in 200 miles radius after negotiating $300 from the price that was agreed upon accepting non-refundable (that we mentioned about ahead of time) deposit. We offered to get you deal on parts, as you leave too far away from us to come to get the vehicle fixed. Your trip expense would negate savings. Offers to buy vehicle back were not accepted by you. I explored all my options to make a customer happy. We will be responding publicly to the review with our side of story. Best Regards, Victor

kdaddyo responded

I expect nothing less. As the dealers side of the story is always true and correct. What a joke. I have family that lives in Carmel. I'll make sure they spread my side of the story to your community. Please!, you tried everything to make the customer happy. You failed at that the second I stepped onto your lot and haven't done anything but insult me and my intelligence since. I have an uncle that's a car dealer. I'm not as ignorant as your other customers sir. And you call my insurance company and argue the fact that I was covered on a car that was still owned by someone else. Dealer of the year my rear. I think not, another unsatisfied customer. I'm sure that will help you achieve that status next year. Bye-bye.
