Shopping at IRA when I needed a car ASAP. I bought a 2016 Toyota Corolla last Tuesday (Jan. 8th, 2020) and the sales person that made this experience easy and painless was Zack Josephs. My wife and I have been married for 42 years, and during that time we have certainly purchased our share of cars, but neither of us has ever delt with someone like Zack. Zack not only listened to our needs, but did not try to pressure us in way, and we both found Zack to be straight forward, and a person that we could trust. Thus, I would like to take this opportunity Thank Zack for all his help. It is not often a sales person will spend the time and energy that Zack did with us to sell a used car, but the entire IRA Team treated me top notch. Please Stand Behind Your Vehicles I purchased a Toyota Certified pre-owned 2014 Toyota Prius Two from Ira Toyota of Manchester (a member of Group 1 Automotive) on December 18, 2015. F I purchased a Toyota Certified pre-owned 2014 Toyota Prius Two from Ira Toyota of Manchester (a member of Group 1 Automotive) on December 18, 2015. Fast forward 18 months, and we began noticing paint peeling from the front bumper cover that very quickly spread like cancer. When we brought it to the attention of the dealership's service department, they told me there was nothing they could do and that I should contact Toyota. Toyota gave us the same song and dance. Ugh. Despite buying the car Toyota Certified pre-owned, no one wanted to stand by this vehicle. In December 2019, fed up with the lack of success we had with Ira Toyota of Manchester and Toyota, we took the car to a Collision Center to get the bumper cover painted. By now, it was embarrassing. The all black car had a grey bumper. It was then that we learned that the bumper was not original parts. In fact, it was an aftermarket part and had been painted poorly (without flexers). I brought it to the attention of the dealership hoping they would make things right and reimburse us. We understand that it is not something you'd pick up on an inspection and we weren't expecting them to buy the vehicle back. We just wanted compensation for work we had done that wasn't normal wear and tear. After some deliberation, they decided it was not a smart business decision to reimburse any amount for the cost of the bumper cover body work. So that is why I am giving Ira Toyota and Group 1 Automotive a 1 out of 5 stars. The Used Car Manager at Ira Toyota was very good. The service department has been excellent. But I can't do business with a dealership I cannot trust, even if the price is right. We hope everyone else has a better experience than us, but for our household we will be bringing our car elsewhere. All of that service and future car purchases add up. And, we will be sure to tell our friends and family the same thing. More
