When we decided to go to Island Subaru in Staten Island, we met Mr. Daniel Sinnano who was a sales representative at the time. He was very courteous, professional, helpful and knowledgeable of the car we wanted. He took charge immediately and helped us to rectify the mistakes other sales people had made along the way. We recently learnt of his recent promotion. He is working tirelessly to satisfy and make the customers happy. All of the auto dealerships need staff like Daniel Sinnona. I went to hicksville subaru before I came to island subaru which my friend Ania recommened. The hicksville locations atmosphere was not as welcoming as island subaru amd the sales person there seems like he didnt want to sell me a car. So my friend ania told me about the guy (Sam) that sold her new 2016. She said he will help me and that he is very good. She wasn't lying. Sam was personable. He felt like a friend that wants you to drive away happy and not a saleman that will drain you just to sell a car. Sam is knowlegable and proactive. My island subaru car buying experience was very memorable because of Sam. Im also happy because i know my honda 03 that i trade in is in good hands. I will bring in more hikers in island subaru because of him. I will remember sam till the day I retire my subaru. Heck, i will remember sam forever. After visiting several dealerships on the island, i figured oh well I'm here so I might as well stop in and see what Subaru has to offer (since I was here anyway and their lights was still on and people were still inside). So I went in. My sales man name is Jody Joseph an amazing guy. I mean this guy has so much patience. I am sure that I plucked and tried every nerve. He never flinched, sigh, or say lady won't you come back on Monday, like the other dealerships salesman said. What I liked the most about this dealership is that my sales man never stop trying to find the right vehicle for me--that includes the price that I wanted. Even at 10:00 pm after I went through every car in the facility--new, used. Jody never displayed fatigued or gave up. He acted as if I had just walked through the door-- 2 hours later at 10:00 pm on a Saturday night. Who does that? Jody is a True, professional salesman and he is on his "A" game. I am 100% satisfied with the service, my newly acquired vehicle, and the price, (and the safety facts about Subarus). The Subarus are vehicles worth taking a look at before you make a decision to go with another auto manufacturer. Island Subaru is the dealership I highly recommend you visit. All the sale people are great and very warm/ friendly. One last experience I want to mention- a young couple were sitting the showroom-the wife about 30 and the husband about 35 years old. They are getting the outback 2017. I have the outback 2016. The husband asked me, did you expect to get a Subaru when you walked in here? I answered no they both said laughing neither did we. We all laughed together and shared our Subaru expeience and vehicle style safety features and the great prices / values. They are not reputable! Buyer Beware! On May 24, 2016, I went to Island Subaru to see a 2013 Subaru Forester advertised on their website for $18,900, certified used. After I agreed to buy On May 24, 2016, I went to Island Subaru to see a 2013 Subaru Forester advertised on their website for $18,900, certified used. After I agreed to buy the car, I was told there was a certified used fee over and above the price of the car. So I paid $20,775 for the car. Island Subaru said they had to drive it 50 miles before they could inspect it. So it was delivered to my house the next day. When it arrived the next day, it had one key. I was entitled to 2 keys for certified used. Not knowing I was entitled to 2 keys, I paid to have a second key made at the Subaru dealer in Bay Ridge which is much closer to me . Island Subaru will not reimburse me for the second key. A few days after we got the car, we realized the bracket that holds the battery in place was cracked and the battery was rattling around. The USB port also wasn't working, which I specifically asked about before agreeing to buy the car. Last week, the brake light started to come on so I took it back to Bay Ridge Subaru and was told there was no oil or brake fluid in the car. An open recall had also not been performed before the car was sold to me. I specifically paid the extra money for a certified used car so I would not have these problems. This dealer has shady business practices! A certified used car should not have been sold with no oil or brake fluid! I was not given what I paid for! Is this the reputation you want for Subaru? In just over a month, I have been back to service 3 times. When I tried to call Island Subaru about this issue, the phone just rang and rang. I called on different times and different days, during their posted business hours. On one occasion, I got a person who took a message and said "I'll check into this and call back tomorrow, I never heard from her again. Two other times, they transferred me to my salesman, and the phone just rang and rang. I was never able to get a manager on the phone. I finally asked the Island Subaru online chat window for the manager's number. They said they didn't have the number, and asked for my number. I gave it. The manager never called me, but I got texts and emails trying to sell me a car! I finally got Greg Kemp on the phone. He has been no help at all. He did not seem to care at all that I was not given what I was promised and what I paid for. I am extremely disappointed in my experience with Island Subaru. I have spent needless hours taking care of problems that I should never have had. This dealer is disreputable. More
