This time around I was able to get my car appraised and purchase a Working with the team a JM for over 8 years now and it has always been a pleasure. This time around I was able to get my car appraised and purchase a new car all from my office. All that was left to do was to come in give them the old keys, take the new keys and sign on the dotted line! The improved sales encounter really made this sale extra smooth I only spoke to 2 people. Disappointed Though I only end up at the dealer for car's 5,000 mile check ups (because RX's run so well), the dealership keeps changing how things are done each t Though I only end up at the dealer for car's 5,000 mile check ups (because RX's run so well), the dealership keeps changing how things are done each time I find myself there. The inconsistency is off-putting, annoying, and as a customer of over 15 years and 6 vehicles, instead of feeling secure in what I can expect, it achieves the opposite. One policy used to be a walk around the vehicle to detect existing damage/issues before it went into the shop. This time there was no walk around. It meant not seeing that 2 valve stem caps were missing on the passenger side. How is a customer supposed to support/prove when something happened? This change in policy is not a fair playing field. Additionally, when my tires were supposedly taken off, rotated and pressure checked (as part of its first 5000 mile check), the man who handled the tires didn't even bother putting 2 new caps on to finish that job properly. Makes me wonder how carefully they checked everything else … The end result was my having to make a second trip back to JM the following day, to get caps. Also, for a while now (going back to my last RX) I've noticed my service writer seems distracted, like he is trying to keep a lot of ball in the air, stressed, in a hurry to move on and not fully focused on what I have said/to say. I've found myself repeating things I'd already told him 2 or 3 times. One thing this resulted in was him telling me they couldn't find a problem I'd mentioned - when, if he'd been listening, he'd have already understood that the criteria necessary to reenact the problem could not possibly exist in the short time they had the car and he wouldn't have had them waste time checking for something that couldn't be checked. There is also no notation of the issue (for historical reference) on the report/Invoice. And then there's there's the change in no longer receiving a report/graphs charting the status of each aspect of the checkup. I certainly received an invoice which did list the components of the check, but with only a N/C's after each one. I'm pretty sure that No Charge cannot be used as an indication of, say, tire wear … Service writer tried telling me my car was so new there was nothing to write … Really? 8 months of wear and tear and they can't come up with a baselines on the checklist to use as a measure against future changes? So disappointing. These reports used to be the norm. When pressed I was told he'd go back to the Service Department and send me something. Only thing I've gotten is email from him regarding importance of a survey and giving him a high rating. And the final straw … a "meal ticket" for the lounge? How gauche. I returned it to the service writer. Mr. Moran is rolling over in his grave. More
